Do you ever go to P&R...

...look at all the thread titles and think to yourself, "naaaaah"? lol I'm not juding, either. This is a 100% bait free observation. There's actually quite a few people who post in there regularly that I enjoy conversing with. But I read all those thread titles, the thoughts start rolling and it just seems like too much work. I must be getting old or something. lol

Nice try, but still TOTALLY missing the point. It's not a discussion about prince.org It was MEANT to be a humorous GENERAL DISCUSSION about the intimidation of diving into the Politics & Religion forum. That's why I put it in GENERAL DISCUSSION. shrug Whatever.

Nice sig, though, Mach. nod

I sometimes think I am absolutely insane for posting in there but I find GD to be a lil bit too silly, too mean, just too much sometimes.

I can understand that, too, but more and more I try to just ignore those moments/threads. My apprehension with P&R is just the thread TITLES! lol I imagine the contents of the threads being as "spirited" as GD, and in reality probably whole lot more heavy, and just can't bring myself to dive in. Ya know, like, I was a Knowledge forum JUNKIE back in the day. Can't bring myself to do it here. shrug

I miss the Knowledge forum. sigh

And you are right to stay out of those threads. There's a lot of baiting, name-calling and really no real actual debate. I'd probably be better off beating my head on a wall. lol

But that just sounds like most online forums these days. It would be a challenge, but I think if I could bring myself to wade through the sludge, there's probably some really enlightening people in there with some intelligent and insightful thoughts. But that sludge... mm... thick. lol

As far as the beating your head on the wall, yeah, I get that. That's a bit of what I was alluding to in a recent orgnote to you. A lot of times I'm not trying to be contradictory, or argumentative, I'm just expressing my honest opinion, or *shock* - a fact, looking to have a good conversation. But most everything online these days is interpreted as a challenge, an argument, or an insult. This is pretty much the last place I post online and I'm not sure how much more I've got in me.

The Knowledge forum, le siiiiiigh. lol Yes. Sorely missed. I've recently had that conversation with a couple old schoolers in private. Prince messed up not having a Forum on Lotusflow3r. I have absolutely NO doubt that it would have achieved a much greater level of success if he had done so.

I agree with the comment about too much baiting and name calling and no real debate, and it's like hitting the wall with certain people.

Not to say that there aren't a few people that I had a bit of a conversation with though, but overall it's like running into the wall each time there.

I started out posting in P&R first before venturing into GD. It seemed a bit cliquey in there and I did not know anyone at the time so P&R seemed safer.

Now, no where is safe on the Org.

It is a shame really.

Nowhere near what it used to be.

sigh

No worries, you can just read the content. I did that for a long time before I made any comments.

P&R and Music, Non Prince are where I spend the most time. Lots of good information.

Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

It is funny because for some it is just a place to come and chat, insult and express their opinions. For some of us it means a lot more than that!
