This Hurts

I don't understand the locking of this thread. http://www.prince.org/msg...&tid=34022 It was only a question. There are "others" here who i KNOW have caused you just as much work if not more. And what if the person is BAITED into a flamewar, does that count for anything? I'm through i just wanted to express my two-cents sad

Starting a thread like this serves no purpose.

Read Ian's reasons and move on with your life.

Ian said:

We're not obliged to provide an explanation. But I'll give you a quick summary:

SweeTea was removed from the site last year because she was simply too much of a burden - she created too much work for the moderators, and she was quite abusive to the staff that run this site. That along with her incessant flaming, race-baiting and ranting got her account deleted.

After the account was removed, she continued harrassing myself and Ben in emails with some extremely abusive messages.

She came back as Funksha and being the charitable souls that we are, we decided to give her the benefit of the doubt and see if she'd learnt anything from the previous experience. We left her alone, she proceeded to continue flaming and creating more trouble as with the old SweeTea days. So that account has also been deleted.

The post BAD has just re-posted was clearly referring to Funksha's post about "IceNine getting her kicked off" - I said that if she didn't give us a reason to kick her off, we wouldn't. She later did, so we did.

End of story.

I read that, i got a life and i'm LOOKING for an ANSWER to MY question. I don't understand why BAD's thread got locked.
He asked a question and they locked his thread. You mean we can't even discuss amongst ourselves what's going on? If you look most people seemed surprised as to what happened, so maybe asking for an explanantion wasn't so stupid after all. If it had been somebody you liked maybe you could see it differently.

After the Shausler incident they didn't allow threads asking what happened so why should this be any different?

but the fact of the matter remains that when there is a PROTEST of a thing being done, such as the deletion of
FUNKSHA's account, and you ask the question of why to
get others involved in the disusson, not only do you get set up to be LOCKED OUT, then you also have to worry
that you own account may be in jepardy, after all
it's only a matter of discresion isn't it?
I AM King BAD a.k.a. BAD,
YOU EITHER WANNA BE ME, OR BE JUST LIKE ME

Let's be clear - the Org rules clearly state that moderator decisions are final, no one is owed an explanation. Ben removed the account of the person concerned, with the full support and agreement of the Prince.org staff. Therefore, the matter is closed for further discussion. It is unhelpful to labour the matter further because it won't reverse the decision made. Sorry if that appears heavy handed.

You know no such thing. You can merely make assumptions, but in this case you are incorrect.

It makes absolutely no difference whatsoever. If someone breaks the site rules, that's their responsibility. In the case of the person concerned, we had already previously removed her account, and with the new account it didn't work out any better. Frankly, we just don't have the time to deal with such sh*t, and we're not obliged to either. When one individual is occupying such a large percentage of our time spent running the site, clearly that needs to be stopped for the good of the whole site.

Additionally, we've learned from valuable experience in the past that the past way to deal with these issues is to make our decision and stick to it. It's not open for discussion I'm afraid - that's not the moderators on a power trip or something, rather it is the only effective way to run the site. Sorry I can't be more helpful theC, but I suggest the matter is closed.

Ian

PS I'm Orgnoting theC privately to clarify, as I'd rather not drag the discussion out further on the forums.
