What makes a thread nonsense?

Obviously there is gray area in here.

Barring the obvious Tame thread, I've yet to understand what makes a thread worthy of posting and what makes it nonsense.

For example, we used to do "Prince fiction" threads on the org all the time. Then they started getting locked. Now they're allowed again?

And this thread: http://prince.org/msg/7/339301

It's Prince themed. We used to do stuff like this all the time.

Even mods like Anxiety used to post threads like "I've got a mouth full of raisonettes... no really" or "Puprle Rain reenactment thread".

So what makes threads nonsense? Whim? Rigid sense of humor?

That's a good question, actually. It does seem rather hit-or-miss at times.

I think it just comes down to which mod comes across it, and whether they're the one with the head wound or not.
