Alright, folks. Since this has come up again I'd like to ask a question of you all.

I'm not going to be naming names because I don't think that's necessary, and anyway I'm sure there are others who've witnessed this and can guess at who I'm referencing.

How is it that certain posters can come on here and be rude and argumentative and confrontational and condescending and yet they get a free pass for their online behaviour, but I can do far less and be accused of being contrary for the sake of it, of flamebaiting, and more?

Well in responding to your numerous reports...

Wait, you didn't make any. Not one.

As someone who has been here for several years you should surely know that mods cannot and do not read every single post on this site and rely on reported posts.

Seeing as you did not feel strongly enough to make a single report, it is somewhat surprising you felt strongly enough to make a thread to complain about it.

It's just that I've noticed a whole lot of the aforementioned awful behaviour coming from certain posters on a regular basis and no one seems to call them on it. Sometimes they practically get cheered on. Meanwhile, people are taking the time to talk down to me about doing far less.

I had originally put this thread in GD because that's where the bulk of this happens. I wanted to discuss with the people who post there regularly about what's going on. I already told you via orgnote I don't feel Site Discussion is the place for this thread. You and I both know the relative volume of traffic it gets compared to GD.

Please lock this thread, since I don't think it's going to be of any use in here.
