How do I submit a link on the org?

This section seems like it haven't been updated for ages: http://prince.org/links.html

And apparently you can't create a thread to promote a site (considered as hotlinking or whatever)


What can I do?

the hotlinking rule relates to linking from other peoples sites, not your own

hotlinking is when you "steal" other peoples bandwidth by linking directly to images, without the site getting the benefit of traffic, new members or ad revenue. the person who owns the site has to pay for the bandwidth etc but gets no benefit from you linking directly

this is a common rule at a number of sites. if it's your own site or personal webspace then it's usually okay to do link directly. likewise sites like photobucket and imageshack are setup specifically for people to host images and link to them, so it's usually allowed to imbed images from those sites

the hotlinking rule doesn't stop you from promoting your own site or linking directly to images from it. there may be other rules about this, but there doesn't seem to be anything to stop fans sharing details about other sites as long as they don't have bootlegs etc or other illegal stuff that would make prince cry

Eventhough hotlinking got nothing to do with it one of my moderators created a thread to promote the site. The thread got shut down a few minute later.
