What does the ORG think?

If this was a place set up to "honor" you and your life's work. How would you feel about it? I guess put yourself in Prince's shoes and look at the ORG. What do you think is the vibe of this place?

I would disagree with the premise. The Org is a place to come together and discuss openly and honestly, not to honor per say. Because of that, based on the NPGMC, his behavior with management, critics and such, I don't think he would care for it much, but would also be addicted to reading it.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

From Ben's blog...

I’ve been saying since the site started that prince.org has nothing directly to do with Prince, but everything to do with the extremely diverse community that has grown out of past and present (and if he’s lucky, future) Prince fans. When we launched this site in 1999, it was right in the banner as it is today: independent and unofficial.

Taking my cue from the Org's founder, I've never understood this site to be "dedicated" to Prince. If you read the purpose of the site as stated, what's the problem?

Very good point. A site "dedicated" would be full of yes men and basically a fan site. Although there are fans here of course, there is also objective and honest opinion, not just ass kissing. Any site is going to have its share of wacky folks, but in the end, the premise is the same. It amazes me that people think this site is FOR him, instead of ABOUT him.

I'd have to agree whole-heartedly. This site is for and about the prince fan community, not for and about prince.

I think Prince has done some grand things and some really shitty things - so this place is a perfect reflection of that

BUT

this place isnt about/for "Prince"

it's for and about fans and non fans alike

and still thenit's a perfect reflection of what everyone makes it

It's already been said, but yeah. This is not a memorial. It's a community. For people. People who like Prince's music. Sometimes people are nasty and gross and hilarious. Sometimes they're creepy ass-lickers. Vive le difference!
It's what you make it.

yeahthat

I don't think Prince cares for this place much. He's never been one to encourage free speech or welcome criticism or ribbing, even when he probably knows damn well it's deserved. But I, for one, fully believe either he or staff lurk on here to read up on fan opinion or get feedback from a project or whichever. He's too much of an odd little fuck to just ask people what they think or communicate with his public in any normal way, but he is still human. I'm sure he gets curious what people think, even if it's not always going to be complementary.
