Amen to that! This was the best thread I ever read on this site--hands down! Chron Freeze also stated that he did an interview for a book that was never published about engineers in the studio, what a shame! If you want to hear Chron Freeze's house music podcast it is: jackin.podmatic.com. I have it bookmarked! He said he might Might! check in on occasion! cool

Thank you!

Freeze's thread was one of the best things ever posted here. It was informative and respectful. He gave some great insights into Prince's tecnique and work ethic and I respect the fact that he put people in check when they got out of bounds. It was so refreshing to read about the actual creation of music rather than inappropriate questions and comments about the guy's personal life, not to mention the endless swooning, incoherent babbling and juvenile fantasizing that makes up the majority of the drivel posted in M&M.

It was way cool to read about Prince's versatility, skill and his amazing artistry from a guy who was actually there and knows his stuff. cool

Yes it was, and I agree with you on the bolded part. He was very careful and respectful in not sharing any personal information about the man's private life, and kept the information he shared with everyone focused on the music during his time working with Prince. It was nice to know that chronicfreeze is a fan of the 80s group "Skyy", and how he stated he enjoyed their music and still listen to it today.

Even his funny stories were respectful. When I read the one about the food situation I kept thinking, why not just pack yourself a couple sammiches and keep it movin, LOL!

I dug Skyy too...Real Love was my fav.
Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

lol True. It was a good read and had it's funny moments. Nice that he shared those stories with us.

Anyway, speaking of "Skyy", my favorite track of Skyy was "Here's to You". I like the bass line in that song, and I bet Shelby J would rock that song if she sang a cover of it. She has the voice to sing that song.

Not that much really! He seemed like a nice guy, but it was mostly technical stuff that he wanted to talk about, so unless you're a studio engineer..... and he couldn't remember a lot of the songs he'd worked on. A couple of funny stories that you'll live without knowing, honestly! wink But maybe someone will give you a quick summary of them... like Squirrelgrease !! lol I think the funniest was the 'underwater sounds' ! biggrin

Oh, and on the personal side of things, he said he really, really admired Prince, wished him all the best, thinks he's a musical genius, and he never saw him pissed off once!! He also thought he should be given a break, that he's a sensitive guy, we expect too much from him, and ....I'm sure others will add things they remember...

Glad I saved it. biggrin What a great read.

I knew someone would save it. I did a little of it but couldn't get to a computer before they deleted it.

Not out for any bad doing at all, but can you send it to me. There was a lot of tech stuff I wanted to re-read. If not I understand.

Thanks
