Why can people who aren't members of the org Look at our user profiles?
I always thought that would have been something only members would be allowed to see. Has it always been like this? Could that be changed possibly?

I know Ben changed it that way a long while ago.

Founder | Man this was so long ago I don't even remember the whole rationale around it. I think the deal was that since it didn't afford ANY privacy (because anyone can create an account, fairly anonymously, and for free, just to get to the profiles), that there was no sense in requiring login, and it was just annoying to people who might surf around trying out the site first, or who aren't always logged in when they're just reading posts.
If someone could make a compelling argument why they should be behind login, I'd be open to changing it, but it's been this way for at least the past few years. ben -- "the prince.org guy" |

I think we, as a community, would be able to come to an agreement on what is the best course of action, going forward, if you were to elaborate on this predicament you find yourself in. Go on, who was it? Spill those beans! :rubshands:

Some folks never did come back.

BUT, that doesn't mean I have to like it

I wasn't aware until I read this thread that non-members could look up profiles. Thanks ZombieKitten for pointing this out. Can they also send org notes? If we have votes, I vote that only members can see profiles of other members. It just seems safer that way.
