Besides, I was on here before I was of age, and I haven't been irreparably damaged. I don't think Finess means the damage that could be done to them, but the damage they do. Ain't that the truth.

That said, that standard could be applied to a lot. How would you feel if an Orger you might have been flirtatious with turned out to be underage? Hasn't happened to me, but I get creeped out just to find out an Orger I've said something to isn't an adult. I don't make a habit of engaging in any serious flirting with people online, so I can't tell you. But I doubt I'd care much, if I did. I'd just stop if I found out the other person was a youngin'. I think that would be most normal adults' reaction. But that's not always the reaction that takes place here.

i think the org still needs a looney bin as well and 4 the over zealots religious chatter by some ..they need their own place so they can converse over there and leave the sane people alone...
possible prince era only forums so those that want 2 relive the glory days can stay in their time warp man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Where grammar is concerned, the mods need to crack down on people who continually make no sense in their post, young and old. As for adult subject matter, I think it's too late to try and regulate something like that. Besides, I've seen plenty of people in here discuss sex with folks who I found out were underage and I saw no one in here complain about it back then. That was the time to have said something. [Edited 8/14/09 8:29am] OK I am going to be truthful. I do not own a computer and am nearly computer illiterate and that is probably why I just joined this sight this year. I go places that make computers available to the public and use them there. I can NOT find a way to spell check while I am also on the Prince.org site. Like I say it has taken me a long time to even try the computer and this site is my way of getting comfortable with it. Personally I have only an associates degree in liberal arts which I received in 1985. If we are going to stop letting people post due to lack of good grammar and punctuation etc what are we saying here? Sorry high school drop outs but only those who put some effort into their studies and then later went on to college can post here!!!! I mean this is Prince.org not a medical study report that I'm writing in. Also I have seen spell check before on computers but not grammar check. Yes there are people whose writing style can be dizzying to read but since they continuously use the same user name can't you skip over them easily, I know I can. Shouldn't any adult have a basic grasp on spelling and language rules though? It's not like it's hard. There's no such thing as a spell or grammar check feature on the Org, but plenty of people handle their writing fine. I hate thew excuse that "it's not school/work/a report so I don't have to try to write properly". I really, really do. I mean, what's the point in half-assing writing at any time? i would've been massively pissed if i couldn't join & post when i found this place at 17. if you don't want to interact with someone who is underage, then don't. I know. When I was 15, I lurked around the Org for about a year before I joined, just to check it out and see what the members were like. If there had been an age requirement to join the site when I tried to [at 16], I would have been very upset. I agree with purplecam - it's all about respect. you shouldn't have to worry if you're respecting everybody, regardless of age. About the grammar problem --- typos and imperfect grammar are okay, IMO. It's the people who sp34k lyk dis that should learn how to write/type properly. It makes for difficult reading. [Edited 8/21/09 16:39pm] And that's what I meant when I talked about grammar issues a page or 2 back. There are people here who intentionally talk like "dis". That's not cool when you're on a website that people from all over the world come to and they are reading your posts and they want to understand what you're saying but can't because of that. I'm not knocking slang at all, hell I talk that like that sometimes but there is a time and a place for that. It's just a respect issue in my eyes. [Edited 8/24/09 9:10am] I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that
