I agree.
Mine were serious threads. The rest are humorous, but they're gonna ruin my future prospects for showdown threads. I feel like Alanis Morrisette accepting a grammy then hearing Maredeth Brooke's release "Bitch" the same evening. | |

I don't know what these are, but it sounds about as stupid as "take a picture of your ass" threads. Of course, it's not entirely unlikely that the "trend" was started by pretty much the same orgers that premiered photowhore threads some time ago.
Can the thread starters instead, it's easier - and that way they won't pollute other forums with their shit. | |

However, I notice now that you happen to mention it, that half of it was written this spring. Guess I haven't cared enough to change it. The first half will stay though. | |

Teacher's comments as always have to be taken with a grain of salt. I mean, she's the same orger that started a "Imago's voice makes me hot" thread just the other summer, so I don't think she has much room to talk here.
But I do agree the SHOWDOWN threads need to be kept in check because they are appearing in the wrong forum. The GD forum is looser than the other forums and for good reason--it's about the banter and interraction--not debate. But, in the music themed forums, the threads have a higher type purpose I suppose. And besides, similar threads do constitute a sort of 'flooding' of the forum that the mods are trying to discourage in the music forums. As far as the 'stupid photowhore' threads of the GD forums, either get an ass worth posting, or just don't click on them. The tone of these critiques is hilarious. An org run by Teacher's rules would end up feeling like William F. Buckley blog for fucks sake
I'll make no further comment, and let teacher do her usual rebuttal. She likes getting the last word, even if it's pointless anyway. [Edited 8/25/09 5:54am] | |
