Things I hate about the .org:
1. The .org won't feed my cats for me. It's not like I'm asking a lot here. It's the least you can do, .org. What's up? 2. All I wanted was a Pepsi, and the .org wouldn't give it to me. Just one Pepsi! 3. The .org won't give me a pony. I want one. A pink one. With wings. Quit being so stingy and hand it over. 4. It said on the bottle that the .org would make my hair more soft and lustrous and I feel like I have a damn Brillo pad on my head. I could go on. I believe people keep starting these threads bemoaning "all the negativity" because they believe Prince or his people are reading the Org, and they're sort of trying to say, "See, I'm not like these people," for some reason thinking that will ingratiate them to Prince. Just speculatin'! stanley you hit the nail on the head right there i told them they should just start their own website and kick off anyone who even comes close to saying something negative imagine how dull that website would be? 1000 threads about how great Prince is yawn

you know whats cool about this thread is you were able to lure the people accused of being haters but consider themselve constructive critics to be contained all together in a less than active forum here and of course they are all present doing the same old song and dance as what they would usually do and say in that other more active forum that is based around that so called good old (he was good until 1993) artist done converted to JWism. Way to go! To Sir, with Love

Do most people even know this thread exists? A couple of people said that it should be over at the P:M&M section cause that's where all the pos vs neg threads started at. Maybe you could put up something in the sticky section at P:M&M and let members know that if they want to put up a "Where's the Love?/Where's the Hate?"-type thread, they MUST come here to this one already created. That's just my I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

That's just my well, i put a link to this thread in all the love/hate/fam/hater threads i locked in P:M&M. that should be a tip-off, no? and i really think it's significant to keep this topic in site discussion, because it's not about prince. it's about our posting habits on this site, which happens to be dedicated to prince.

I hear ya but what happens when those locked threads with the link in them start sinking due to new topics being created? After say, tomorrow, they may not be on the 1st page and many people may not even care to search. It's a suggestion cause this is a valid discussion. How is this topic less about Prince than people arguing about which songs they like better than others?
Prince has nothing to do with our opinions of his work, either. it's time for a new direction / it's time for jazz to die

stanleylieber said: How is this topic less about Prince than people arguing about which songs they like better than others?
Prince has nothing to do with our opinions of his work, either. but those topics are directly about his work. THIS topic is about how we communicate in that forum, whether we're talking about a song or an album or a tour or a hairstyle or whatever. THAT has nothing to do with prince and everything to do with the culture of this site.

But relegating this to the non prince forum whitewashes the Prince forum of "negativity" allowing only positive threads to be posted. . Oh, come on, Anx pulled a swifty, and it was quite smooth...
What this is really about (and therefore does really belong here) is the closing of NPGMC, Housequake, AMP. You can call it whatever you want, but the subtext of these arguments is really all a battle to stake out territory (smell the dog-piss, anyone?). The org's independent character and identity hasn't been the same since NPGMC went under or, for that matter, since the Collective did away with all the other major sites. Now, the org has become the battleground for "who/what is the real Prince fan". I vote Imago.. "We've never been able to pull off a funk number"

To everyone who has posted about the placement of this thread and the possibility that my actions could be part of some vast insidious conspiracy, I just have one thing to say:
You got me. It's true. I'm a spy hired by an international positivity fam cabal, and my mission was to undermine prince.org by posing as a moderator. And I would have gotten away with it, too. IF IT WEREN'T FOR YOU DAMN KIDS!!! Well played, you guys. Well played. Let the victory dance begin:
