I know there's a time limit after which inactive threads are supposed to expire, but surely this is based on the time of last post, not thread creation? Or is it?

Just wondering - if it has reached it's time limit and has been automatically expired, is there any way of re-opening it?

After all, we're talking about the most popular thread around here for ages, I'd hate to see it die an ignominious death, just because of default settings.

Otherwise, if it was locked for other reasons, perhaps an explanation is in order, one would certainly be appreciated.

It has not been locked by any of the mods.

It cannot be reopened.
