I've noticed that a lot of people that I used to know from this site don't even come here anymore. The ones that I could email have told me that it's mostly the haters that have driven them away. It's really a shame, but who wants to spend their time readinng so much negativity about someone that they like? I don't blame them.

I really don't think this site draws in 'Haters' of prince. It seems like every one has some sort of opinion.

Sadly, some people react badly to other peoples opinion and that's where the problem exists.

The hatred is toward one another not Prince

I mean we don't all like every single thing that Prince has done (impossible as he's far too diverse) but there are some things that the majority do agree on and some that stir disagreement.

"Haters' is really a negative reaction that people get when they post.

If people leave the Org because of this then they’re far too sensitive!

I don't ever agree with someone pushing another away; not totally. People have their own choice of what to do. You can succumb to the pressures of people's bullshit and leave a site, or you can push forward, ignore the negative, and still try to be plugged in. If people leave out of boredom, or other more important issues in their lives, then so be it. Life is what happens between Org entries.

I was really bullied by people on alt.music.prince. Not everyone. Most there were awesome folks. We had a great time back in 1999-2002 or so. SO many varied people from rich and culturally diverse countries, backgrounds, age groups, etc. But people started to leave because it became the same old nonsense, the same old bullshit, and the bullshit became boring. It wasn't exciting to post there anymore. I stayed until about 2005 or 6 I think. It got to the point of all porn ads, and impostors. Everyone was using some variation of my name or someone else. They had posts about people dying from AIDS, which is NOT funny at all, especially if you've ever had a friend die of AIDS (which a lot of us have). My point is not that I was a victim, poor me or whatever. It is that I didn't leave, despite the haters. I stayed until I got out of it what I could, then I moved on.

The Org, HQ, Princefams, etc. All the same. Hell, that goes with a job, an apartment, or a car. You get what you can from it, then you move on. If the getting lasts 6 months or 60 years, so be it.

Really though, I think most people just lose interest.

Dayclear I have also noticed that the great orgers who use to come here don't anymore because of responses like some that have been posted in this thread. It's sad because some were really nice like Krystal666 I really miss her.

This site really was upsetting to me when I first came here. Back about 1997. I am glad that Prince is exactly who he is. I love his music, his looks and all... I just wish he and Mayte would of been happy and still married with lots of children.

You can't say anything about new Prince music unless it's all sugary and sweet or else you're labeled a hater. You can't talk about old Prince vs New Prince music or else you're labeled as stuck on wanting a repeat of Purple Rain or SOTT. Hell, you can't even talk about how much fun old Prince used to be or else you're labeled just being stuck in the past.

You can't put photos in the gallery. You can't link to videos on Housequake or anywhere for that matter...anymore. You can't talk about his official site...well you can...but let's be real about it...it's been almost two months and a whole lot of $77.00 debits later and there's still nothing to talk about there either. The new music was not much to talk about. If he tours, that'd bring people back but how likely is that? I'm thinking not very.

Being a Prince fan in general...just isn't as much fun as it used to be and it's not the haters making it that way. It's the people turning fans into haters!

Prince makes it very difficult to be a Prince fan. The free expression allowed on the org (though it's diminished a bit) actually makes it more entertaining.

You have a group of people here who think everything he does is brilliant, wonderfull, magnificient.. who seem to judge him as some semi-god, with such good taste in women, philosophy etc...etc...
You also have a group of people here who most of the time don't go along with that 'licking up' and first of all judge him on his musical merits. You seem to call these people 'haters', I call them realistic...
