Ben, for the love of God... ...protect me from myself.
Please give us the option of not following a thread anymore. It will help keep some of us out of trouble. [Edited 2/18/09 17:15pm]

i really, really wish this was an option. i have an OCD sort of thing that i have to go through and at least click on everything marked as having new posts in the "my org" section.
there are times when i'll look at a new thread and intentionally NOT comment on it, even if i have something to say because i don't want to get roped into it later on the other hand, sometimes i do say something, and i'm kicking myself 3 seconds later, because it keeps popping up as unread

I have to to have it all cleaned. Hell I don't even read the threads half the time just click them, hit the last page and then go back to the main. Can't clear those pesky highlighted threads? Banish those MY ORG blues like I do, with duct tape across your monitor.
Works a treat! Unless you want to scroll up or down. . [Edited 2/21/09 12:51pm]

Works a treat! Unless you want to scroll up or down. my mum complains when she watches a movie in her own language that she can't help reading the subtitles even though she doesn't need to. I fixed the problem by sticking some black insulation tape over the bottom 1/5 of her glasses - viola! I see you are nearly as smart as me!

It would be awesome with a feature that would, after once being chosen, keep you from viewing a certain thread. It shouldn't be reversible of course. That way you could effectively ban yourself from a thread, thus doing the mods a favour (probably ) and save yourself from a potential strike or ban.

I just had a week-long computer break, self "inflicted" so I'm ok. But it WOULD be a good idea, only people who're in need of it would use it anyway. Right about now I guess some dumbasses would tell us we need some self control but it's not even about that - sometimes it's the knowing you're right but you know you can't win cause you're up against morons - you keep wanting to make them see it but... so it would be a godsend.
