If I could lurk but not post... no. If I couldn't even view the site... Maybe 5 dollars per month. I would pay 5 $ per month just to have access to P&R only  - the peeps there and all the incredible things we all share in that forum

Wasn't one of the issues Prince had with Housequake the fact that the guy who ran it was asking for donations at one point? Prince tried to say the site was making money from his image or whatever? As much as I (and I'm sure others) would LOVE to help out Ben money-wise with the site, now might really not be the best time to start something like this.
If he ever DOES make paid memberships a reality tho, what would work best IMO is still have free memberships available. The free memberships would allow people to do everything they can do now, but for like maybe 20 bucks a year you would have access to a few extra features, like non-expiring orgnotes, instant avatar approval, and maybe some additional content allowed for your profile (like maybe multiple pictures or something). Honestly, I wouldn't. Much as I love the Org and have been a member here for years, I love groceries and having a place to live more. I don't make enough to justify many frivolous expenses and if it came to being charged to be an active member here, sad as it would make me to lose out, I'd have to give it a pass.
Though perhaps Ben could set up a donation system, so members can donate when they're able instead of a monthly required fee? Sure, you'll get some people who never donate, but there'd be enough that would to make up for it. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!" | |
