Ok, so who voted for P&R to be removed

If You Could, What Forum Would You Remove From The .Org?

and why, it's one of the best forums on the site.

I did.

I love it in there, it is a great forum and under the right circumstances it could be the best forum here but it needs proper moderation and it does not have that. It is the toughest forum to moderate because everyone is stating their core beliefs and that makes it emotive however the biggest problem in there right now is the open racism and lack of respect and unfortunately the moderation is neither even handed or open to views outside of the UScentric viewpoint.

If it were moderated properly it would definitely be my forum of choice to post in and get involved, I sincerely hope that it gets the new mods that have been promised for a year so that it can get back on track and that the views of everyone can be heard and respected.

This forum is for fans of Prince and as such is a worldwide forum, as such it attracts people from every background so the backgrounds and views of those people need to be absorbed in to the forums. Without balanced and diverse moderation that is just not possible because the only voices that are heard are the ones that shout loudest.

What does it matter? There was already an opportunity for ppl to apply to be a mod and that went no where.

I voted for 3121 MPGMC discussion, never been in there.

I was just wondering this week what was up with the "new mods" situation. Earlier this year, they said that they had the mods that they needed and that we were going to find out who there were shortly thereafter and then nothing. I'm not down with any part going, no scratch that, I do want a certain part removed, but more than anything we need new mods badly around here.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

lol True! But even still, it would be truly benefitial to have someone like (Please come back, sista! wink ) RhondaB to mod, especially P&R. Then there would be someone that could recognize some of the race-baiting that goes on in there, and take the onus off the other mods that may not catch it as such, and to also catch those that are pretty much known for that type of goading.

So do you think the modding in there is adequate then? Is it just the folks that post that have a problem and moderation is not an issue in there?

I don't think she's saying that necessarily. But if people followed the rules, we wouldn't need moderation, right?
Just sayin'.

And I know what Mach says to be true. No natter how it's done, someone won't like it. That's just the way it is.

I agree, however we DO need moderation because P+R has, over the last 18 months become a battleground whether we like it or not so my question stands. Right now P+R is skewed, that is an obvious fact to anyone not from the US, there are always decisions that we do and don't agree with, we are not talking about individual circumstance more the overall issues within P+R

I think moderating in P&R has to be very challenging. I do not know the answer. I do not have a problem with the mods in the P&R forum. And frankly, in spite of my lack of skills and knowledge, I am most comfortable posting in P&R, more than any other forum. In fact, I feel like everybody--mods and member, too, have been very tolerant and supportive of me in P&R when they did not have to be. So I have very few complaints.

However, what I "see" is that a lot of people, not even living in the U.S. criticize it.. which is fine, well and good because there is a lot to criticize.

But what I do not see very often is people from these countries criticizing their own situations. Or I see them get really defensive when Americans defend their own country, which is understandable.

I mean.. like the ss marriage issue, for example. It is not as if all countries in the world offer ss marriage. Is is not even like all countries in the world offer civil unions. But the U.S. is constantly criticized for not being progressive enough by some who live in countries, not even offering ss marriage at all even though they might offer civil unions confused

I just do not think any country is perfect. And it is fine to criticize the U.S., but then again what about one's own country? I think Americans take a lot of criticism and even "abuse" to a certain extent on the P&R forum, but this is just my humble opinion.

But that's the result of sheer arrogance, as if their country is devoid of issues.

I feel that some of the adults that post in P&R use their dose of accountability for their posts - some do not
and many seek the Mods to be babysitters

nod and That Carrie is the bottom line - some would not be happy no matter what was done in the forum - no matter who, where they come from, the colour of their skin or how many there were ( Mods )

A non- American mod would be great shrug

Not everyone that posts there is American. Though much of the responses are geared towards American views only.
