Why This Site Should Leave Politics and Religion in the Forums.

This site is obviously Pro-Obama, whereas many of us who are Prince fans do not feel either party is worth a vote. It's unfortunate when U go N-2 a forum 2 add an opinion and U get jumped on and scrutinized 4 your beliefs... there-4, they should end these political forums and let it B about Music. There are people here who R not even Prince fans who try 2 push their beliefs on U by chastising whatever U say or believe.

Moving to Site discussion. If any unfair or malicious treatment is happening in any forum, please use the "report to moderator" link. Thank you. - Mars23
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

LOL, you know what's funny?

According to the vote results, more people want to see alt.music.prince remain - a site that hasn't had a post in 3.25 years - than want to see Prince: Music and More stay.

And judging by the overall results, the most popular, well-loved forum here are Associated Artists and Fan Gatherings! LOL.

Hey Mars - was moving this thread your first official act as a Mod?

Hey, here's an idea - go to Sean Hannity's forums and post some pro-Obama stuff and see how those guys treat you.

I bet you'll find the "conservatives" here on Prince.org are treated better than "liberals" are on Sean Hannity's site.

I don't vote 4 either party... sorry. Both sides are cruel to each other.
Both sides have people they can name that attack each other... I don't believe in a two party system.

The reason P&R was created in the first place was to prevent the topics from plugging up GD.

Are you unprepared for the responses people give you in P&R? Fine then, avoid the forum. The net result will be the same for you (no discussing P&R) as if prince.org removed it altogether, but it wouldn't affect those that actually do want it to stay.

I'm glad prince.org doesn't stifle all conversation except for that about prince music. It's what makes this site interesting.

And if you still want GD to stay, well then, guess where the P&R stuff will go.

I am getting so sick and tired of people complaining that things don't belong because they have a difference of opinion. It's amazing the shields the mind is able to create when challenged.

All the people do in here is complain... including yourself... is that not what you're doing now?
As for my right to voice an opinion, I should not have that right taken away.. and I never back down from a challenge... in my mind, most of the challenges that have come my way have not been substantial enough to reply... when you become perspicacious, you'll have an open mind, and thus, you'll be able to listen and give an opinion.

As far as having all these other forums, maybe these people should go to more serious sites where there are very good debates, not just the majority rule that seems to be the case in here. I would like a site to come to that actually discusses Prince and things related, and if I were to hear something to the contrary, I would avoid it.

That isn't the truth. You were simply informed that your statement was off topic and rather than admit your mistake, you became defensive. What's so confusing about staying on topic? You had the option to start your own thread but you didn't.

Secondly, when you register you agree to the terms of Prince.org. They allow feedback but at the end of the day the content on this site is Ben's decision, period.

Same as Vendetta, recycled. According to Purp him/herself s/he's been a member over 11 years, or in their own words to me: "I've been a member a lot longer than you probably" , and I'm 11 years old as an Orger. So they're hiding from their previous self.

I was going to say I beg to differ - instead I will just say that "All" is ... wrong.

The owner of this site - Ben

He added the forums that he felt/feels is best for his site and the people that visit here.

P&R happens to be my fave here - and anything really to do with Prince is just icing on the cake

YOU can create your own Prince site with ONLY the forums that you choose and you can run your site in any fashion you would choose

I do not really see Ben changing his site ( thank goodness )

You have made the choice to join and remain here - on Ben's site
You could always choose not to be here just as well if it bothers you so

If there wasn't, they'd still be under their original name. shrug I don't care for recycled orgers, regardless of whether they choose to change their name (which I find stupid if you're well known) or if they've been banned.

Sorry, I thought everyone knew Vendetta was Stymie.

I don't have a problem with someone we know simply doing a name change. To me they don't have the same ulterior motives. It's easy enough to spot those who do it just to create drama or sidestep a ban.

And if you still want GD to stay, well then, guess where the P&R stuff will go.

I am getting so sick and tired of people complaining that things don't belong because they have a difference of opinion. It's amazing the shields the mind is able to create when challenged.

Where did I say you can't voice your opinion?!?!

I SAID.... And read me carefully here.... That you are ticked off because you don't like the responses you get from P&R.... so your solution is to REMOVE this forum. The result of this is that not only will YOU not be able to voice your opinion, but now nobody will.

You can voice your negative opinion about politics and atheists all you want in P&R. But if you can't take people's responses to you, that does not constitute a valid argument to remove their voice altogether. If YOU can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. That's YOUR problem, not OURS, and WE should not be punished for YOUR problem.

And the ONLY thing I am complaining about is people that want to discourage open discourse for no better reason than the fact that they don't feel as though they're a part of it, even though this is not true. As you have seen, many people have responded to you, you just don't like their answers.

If all you want online is somebody to applaud everything you say and respond with statements like "Yeah, bravo! I totally agree with everything you say", then let me know when you find such a magical online forum.

And the day that happens, that will be the deadest forum in the history of the internet, because if everybody agrees with you, what is left to talk about?

You are ALWAYS entitled to your opinion. I am ALWAYS entitled to disagree with it and respond to it. Remove P&R because people are too negative?? Please.
