I would expect this kind of behavoir on a fan site, but why on a Prince site?...especially considering that many of them aren't even fans of Prince, so how did they even end up here?

I think a lot of MJ stans that come here and flood the forum with MJ threads get a kick out of doing so because this is a Prince site. Prince and MJ were considered rivals, so every now and then they will throw out how supposedly MJ is more popular than Prince is on Prince's on site or how he gets more threads started here than Prince. Oh, and let's not forget the random mentions about how many albums he has sold.

They are sick. disbelief

Even my 15 year daughter questions what is up with MJ stans and their childishness. And to have grown ass folks cuttin' up and actin' fool over a singer is beyond my comprehension.
[Edited 12/26/08 5:09am]

Very true, not to mention that Prince just released four or five 'new' songs...that gets their nutiness up to another level..

The people posting MJ threads over and over are trolls, and should be seen as such... Some insecurefanitis is going around...

because he is an "other artist", and the most popular "other artist" in the world, so of course he has millions of fans and some of them are also Prince fans (like myself). and those fans are going to post on "other artists" threads. There is nothing wrong with that. shrug

I remember reading that there is a rule that nobody should post multiple threads about one artist or else they'd be deleted shrug. For some time the mods really closed multiple threads as far as I remember.

Well when there are WELL ENOUGH notes on him they can post in one of those forums instead of making new ones with one sentence.

Now imnot making fun of the people that make the threads but Im just saying that they are really beating a dead dog with these...

Michael Jackson one more chance-what happend to the video??

As far as I know Michael did finish the video for "One more chance"

Why isn´t he releasing it for example as a bonus for an greatest hits cd or something of that kind?

What was the video about??

Time passes by... still no sign of a new MJ album. Will it ever happen?

Or is it over completely?

The man needs some inspiration.

Michael Jackson 2009??

I guess I should first start by saying, is Michael Jackson gonna live to see 2009? They say he needs a lung transplant. Between the bookwriter, his spokesperson and Jermaine he's either a few months from dead or in perfect health.

Everyone knows this and speculation is tiresome by now when there is already a thread on it.

Michael Jackson vault!!!!!

Prince is famous for his "secret" vault. More than 1000s of songs are supposed to be logged in it....

But what about Michaels vault?? How big is it compared to princes??

There is a list on wikipedia.

Michael Jackson auction! What would you buy?

in 2009 Michael Jackson will be going to sell a lot of his stuff.

So surpose you´ve got the money what would you buy???

I would love to have onbe of the silve Bad Tour outfits!

He might be together with Britney Spears the most popular artist in the world, but damn sure not because he is relevant as an artist, but because he is a weirdo.

Well, you've got to admit that there is something about him or else he wouldn't be the object of debate or discussion over the years. I do agree that it's too much, but I also agree with someone here that you don't have to reply.

Are people reporting the excessive threads?
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

I'm totally late to the party, I hadn't even noticed things were this excessive because I generally avoid MJ threads like the plague eek . I recently visited one, but only because Sunny Skies started it, and he always has a good variety of threads on books, pics, and music from artists pre-90's. Was it a slow music week from the gossip rags? Surely somebody must've released a crappy record or gained 20lbs that we can exchange reparteé about instead hmm

The mods don't read every thread. If more people would report the users and threads that are abuse, perhaps the forum could be cleaned up.

What does it have to do with my question when he made any music that was relevant that some prisoners in India dance to Thriller falloff. Thriller as well as the other songs by him you mention that contemporary artists use or are influenced by are all from decades ago. But I guess by your non-answer you answer my question though biggrin.

Ok so Britney didnt release anything LONG before Blackout came to light and she didnt have any music but she was ALL OVER the news. So yeah he is relevant to me in a culture-like way..especially when Mary J Blige dressed up as him in "Just Fine" lol Plus there are more and more bootlegs of his coming to light with the extended version on Lady In My Life, Got The Hots, She Got It and those acapellas of the J5 tunes, he is relevant to fans, but I agree...not to the music public....
To me a man doesnt have to have music to be relevant...as long as people keep making him a relevance, JT's appearance on SNL is making him relevant with no music... but I think MJ is hiding and needs to be alone and not all over this board.

Yes I agree that the MJ threads are excessive, but some of y'all need to stop with the "All MJ fans are crazy and worship him" nonsense. It's old already. He certainly does have some crazy ass fans but not all of us are like that and most of his fans on this site are NOT like that. I've found most MJ fans on here to be pretty cool and one of the more respectful fanbases on here by far, so all the insults all the time are not necessary.

Lets not act like it's only fans posting threads about him either though. I've seen plenty of threads on this site that were started by non-fans. I do think the number of MJ threads on here is too much tho, but if you all want the number of MJ threads to decrease, how about you quit b*tchin' and actually do something about it like complain to a mod or stop responding to all the threads about him? What I don't understand is that you'll see people in here complaining about the MJ threads yet they will still reply to all the threads about him. Obviously MJ threads get a lot of replies which is the main reason I believe people keep posting them, I mean I've seen people on this site post threads about other interesting artists or music, but guess what? These threads get little or no replies. I don't get how people keep complaing about all the MJ threads yet they wont post in other threads about other talented and interesting artists. It seems like threads on here that are not about Michael, Madonna, Janet or Beyonce get very little replies. My suggestion is if you want all the threads to stop however is to stop replying to all the the threads about him! It's really not that hard.

You forgot to mention that Michael Jackson's Number Ones is #1 on the Billboard R&B Catalog chart and #24 on the Pop Catalog Chart (which is an impressive feat considering the slew of Christmas albums that are now occupying the catalog chart.)

Thriller 25, meanwhile, is #22 on the R&B Catalog chart while the Number Ones DVD is #31 on the Top Music Video chart.

Good for MJ. It's nice to see that his catalog is still selling a shitload unlike Prince who has terrible catalog sales.

Why aren't the mods doing anything about this? And why don't they ban trolls like Monk? I am a big MJ fan and even I have complained to the mods several times about all the MJ threads. I've suggested before that there should just be a thread limit on the number of Michael threads allowed or any artist for that matter, but the MJ threads are out of control so I say they limit the MJ discussion to two threads on here MAX . I'm already a member of several MJ fans sites, if I want to talk about him then i'll post over there like I often do, but I agree it's enough already. This is Prince.org, not MJ.org. Get it right!

asg said:

Yes I know, it goes both ways. Either way, something should be done about this. I've ignored all of Monk's threads hoping they will go away yet people keep responding to that troll for what reason I don't know. I've also reported posters on here for being trolls in the past and posting too many MJ threads, but nothing seems to help.

I think everyone here needs to start posting threads about other artists and music? I think it would help offset the number of MJ threads on this page
