Saying they should get rid of this forum. This is the best forum here. Shows we are mostly informed about politics and care about the world, beyond what Prince wore on some catwalk.

First of all...

The majority of people DID NOT vote to remove P&R, even if P&R got more votes than anything else....

However, the reason P&R was added to the forums was because people were getting sick of the threads clogging up GD. If it gets removed, then it'll clog up GD again.

Or do you want to ban any discussion of politics and religion on this site in any forum?

Alt.music.prince used to be a lot of fun. That was where I met Bart. He hasn't changed at ALL over the years.

I voted for P+R, i love it in there but it has gotten like a fuckin zoo over the last 18 months in there. I would love to see it open and used properly as a forum for debate but until there is proper,impartial and representative moderation (moderation by persons representing cultures outside of the USA) then that forum should be shut down with the quickness.
IMHO Ben does not give a flying fuck about certain things here and the issue is demonstrated aptly in P+R.

Don't get me wrong, I very much appreciate what Ben has done creating this place, for God's sake i met my wife here so i, more than most, feel an affinity to here but i think you either do something properly or not at all so if that is the case sort it or drop it.

I guess it's because many people get upset about politics and religion in general.

And some are just jealous.

But the solution to that is easy.

Don't visit the forum.

Personally I think a forum that has no meaning or topics left to discuss should be removed, like the 3121/NPGMC forum.

I also think that if any forum is getting out of hand it's the Prince forum.

But I wouldn't remove it.

Leave P & R alone.

It's a choice, so there's no reason for someone who's thin skinned, easily offended, incapable of expressing coherent thoughts, or a combination of such traits to even bother visiting P & R.

I think it gets unnecessarily ugly at times (and yes, moderation seem subjective)
but I think the positives of the discussions and sharing that does take place outweigh the silliness, baiting and attacks.

I think GD needs to be its own forum.

Without P & R I'd probably be too irritating in GD for any length of time.

I was just joking in the beginning, but I really do believe that P:M and M is just about the most boring forum here. At least there hasn't been a "Battle of the Songs - Which One is The Best Prince Song Ever?????" thread in awhile.

NonPrince Music is almost as bad. There are only so many threads about Madonna, Janet and old school funk that I can take.

Org Artists used to be hopping but has really, really fallen off.

Frankly, ALL the forums except GD and P&R have been pretty dull lately. Probably because of the lack of action in the Prince camp.

When Prince is on tour, the Concerts forum is the best, hands down.
