Ok, need to ask a few questions to fix this problem.

What OS are you using? Vista?
Have you recently installed any new drivers?
When was the last time you cleared cookies/de-fragged?
Do you have a time-machine of some description?

Usually when a thread is locked or hidden this is what shows up
