AshuraNazume said: I for one, have grown tired of all the subjective, and biased opinions that dominate this website, and the topics therein. Every time I visit "the org" I am overcome with negative energy, topics that are irrelevent, orgers who bash, lack respect and/or maturity, and a multitude of other elements, that have resulted in my despising of this website.
Subjective opinions dominating the website? If you despise the site, delete your account. I joined this website, because I had intentions of learning, and discussing subjects/topics about a musical artist, that has been a major impact in my life...Prince. I didn't join this website to hear a whole bunch of disgruntled and discontented "fans" enforce their personal views, and or beliefs.
Not all fans share your feeling or opinions about Prince. You can't make them leave. If it really bothers you, delete your account. I'm not saying I don't want to hear others opinions, because I do. The problem occurs when people act as if their opinions are FACT, and aren't respectable to others. Many a time have I become discouraged from stating my opinion, simply because of the fact that no one would respect it, or consider it's relevance. It seems unfair, but I've learned to realize that the majority of the people on this website don't care. And never will. I'm not trying to call anyone out, or offend anyone, because this isn't directed towards any one person. This is directed towards an attitude, that I see rather prevalent throughout the various posts, and responses. Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of people who are respectable, and considerate to others ideas...
It seems like you only want to hear others' opinions when they fit your idea of what a valid opinion should be and how it should be presented. Opinions simply aren't like that by their nature. biased opinions
After all, you don't need to agree with everything Prince says, has said, does, or did, to be a fan. You don't even have to like his music, that's your opinion. But to be a fan, the only thing you really got to do is...understand.
A Prince fan doesn't have to do any of those things you mentioned, or 'understand' either. People not behaving the way you'd like them to seems to cause you distress. I get irritated by people throwing tantrums about not being able to watch Prince videos on youtube, or "experience" his music. It is HIS music, and his right to do with it, whatever he may please, at the cost of a fan, is of little significance, for the aware fan, would understand, the biased one, one of greed, would whine, and throw fit. Believe me, I would enjoy watching Prince videos on the internet, but if Prince doesn't want his music on youtube, then so be it. I'm not going to abandon him, for something so trivial as that.
They're bothered by not being able to see Prince videos on YouTube, but it seems you're not, so where's the problem? It is THEIR right to feel however they wish about the topic and voice their feelings about it. Other peoples' actions on this site seem to cause you great irritation. I'd look into that above anything else. Ultimately this site will continue to have all these things that irritate you so. It's just a question of whether to stay here or to leave. To my dismay, it was transported to the "site discussion" forum. I don't think the orgers predominantly visiting the "Prince: music and more" forum, would contemplate it, as much as the orgers on this forum have.
Basically nobody will see this thread, now that it's in 'Site Discussion'. If I had seen it in 'Prince: Music and More' I would have responded with a photoshopped pic of Prince about to stick a syringe in a poodle. . [Edited 8/23/08 19:50pm]

find a new forum to hang out in. most of us came here as Prince fans. alot of us no longer post in Prince:Music and More but have gone to other places met some really cool people and created very pleasant experience. I think PM&M is crazy, others think PnR is crazy but hey to each his or her own. You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna

I may have a biased love for Prince that will joking respond to unecessary agressive comments...although I accept if someone has an opinion that is less favorable of the music than I. I have started several threads open for discussing Prince's music and lyrics...and I have also been disappointed with the lack of responses for the amount of people that visit here.... When you go to college and take a class...It is possible to spend an entire hour breaking down a poem, and highlighting several aspects...and I am surprised that some people don't take adavantage of how many subjects and styles Prince has to play with intelligently...It makes me wonder how many Prince fans really feel the man inside the music... Prince is a beautiful spirit with a fantastic mind...Anyone could write a book about him truthfully...I never will though.. It's true if u actually break down the words, poetry, songs, and everything Prince does u would truly kno him inside and out. This is true with most people and life 2day. U have 2 disect life 2 understand 1's true self.

like someone else said...."welcome to the Internet"
What you see here on prince.org,you will see on any other fansite: diverse opinions. You have to accept the fact that,on the Internet, people can express themselves any way they see fit. It's not always a pretty picture, but that's the way it is Negative opinions don't bother me at all.I like what I like and if others disagree with me,so be it.Don't let others' opinions bring you down,or rain on your parade.

The 'problem' is, the introverted and cynical have as much right to free speech as anybody else.
It takes all sorts to make a world... To 'welcome to the Internet', I will add 'welcome to Planet Earth'... AshuraNazume said: I appreciate all the advice, and the suggestions to ignore...certain actions. This is something I have done, and am capable of. But, I do like learning from all the different view points, which exist throughout this community. I like to see, why people feel the way they do...if they have a reason, or simply a personal feeling that would lead to their contributions, positive, or negative.
myfavotite says... "it is what it is" This is true, but I'm not trying to change people, just trying to understand motive. purplesweat, obviosly enjoys engaging in endeavors of fantasy, rather than participating in intellectual, and unbiased threads. That's okay, your opinion is respected. Just display your arrogance where more people will notice it, next time. NouveauDance said..."Welcome to the internet." I say, the internet for negative orgers, such as purplesweat, is symbollic of an electromagnetic facade, that allows the introverted, and cynical to voice thier feelings without rebuttle. Trust me, if I could talk to other Prince fans, I would. I live in an area where the only artists that dominate are Kieth Urban, Nickleback, and Soulja Boy...there's nothing wrong with that, but, it makes connecting with other Prince fans dificult. Hence my joining of "the org" Once again, thanks to all for their time.
