Yeah. I created a thread posting a comical silly harmless quote about Prince I saw in a book. An actual quote from an existing little book. Wanted to see if anyone else had read it etc. But it got locked right away. I never got a reply from the mod either.
I don't see how that was more nonsense than all the threads we have here asking "is Prince God?", "How does Prince brush his teeth?" and so on.

i find that many of the funny threads in prince: music and more tend to get locked or deleted, while the same type of thread could be made and accepted better in general discussion. i've always been curious about why "joke" threads are more quickly deleted if posted in m&m than in GD. is it seriously that much of a big deal over there? or is it just a case of different mods?

there is a way of being funny without taking over a whole thread and multiple posts about something that is very off topic. now i have also jacked a thread 2 make a point other than the topic but it's still about the subject at hand, prince or otherwise and doesn't last all that long. as this is a common occurance over in GD. no one is censoring anybody, at least i don't think so, but have some respect 4 the original poster of a thread. they mayb asking a serious question and seeking out a answer but instead it gets high jacked beyond the topic of discussion.

now 4 funny threads about prince, they have a time and a place and maybe the music forum isn't the place 4 that type of thread. perhaps something can b done 2 accomodate those that want 2 have these funny threads.
