Absolutely  As you might be able to tell from my post  I'm biased in favour of Mars becoming a mod but I really do think that the forum needs a re-boot of some sort, that users get to sign a slightly different set of rules or something or an understanding that the mods will handle things more strictly from a certain time because imo the way it is now isn't working. It would if all the "normal" posters (and I actually count myself with those) would report a post to the mods EVERY TIME there's something fishy about it but that would bog the mods down for years with every day's load of posts.  I'd REALLY like to get back in there now because I'm very interested in the American presidential race but... not a chance the way it is now. | |

Jesus Christ..it's not that effing bad. I am a person who is shy and doesn't relish confrontation. I take everyones post as being "their opinion," even if they never state it.

P&R can get ridiculous with its heated discussion threads and generally "us vs. them" arguments, but for the most part it isn't different than the posts on the political sites Daily Kos, Huffington Post, and Free Republic. (Speaking of which, if you really want to see hateful speech, go to Free Republic.) Then again, you won't see the lengthy discussion on P&R that you do on GD about dick size, how cum tastes, anal or oral; yea or nay, which celebrity has the best ass, or the various threads dedicated to certain orgers like Imago or JustErin. I personally was about to have a really sad and crappy day two weeks ago when someone posted the dick size thread, which had me laughing all day long.

Interesting how negative some are speaking of those who post in p&r. I don't want every "heated" comment reported. That's not why additional mods are needed. I think some have started moderating p&r as they do other forums and that's not how it should be done. Some flow of thought needs to be allowed even if you disagree with it. So whomever becomes a mod in p&r needs not to power trip. | |
