the mods on this board mods, u guys are out of control. although i'm fairly new here, i'm not a rookie to internet forums. but c'mon guys, it seems like your just locking threads you do not agree with. for example... right now on the front page is a locked thread, reason it's locked? because it's a "nonsense thread" it that is so then leave it be and no one will respond and it will disappear. if people feel it important enough to respond than it's not nonsense to them.
second, you seem to love to close "bait threads" we are on a political forum which means any and all threads can be "bait threads" the discussion of politics can be very volatile, so every time someone post something that i disagree with aren't they baiting me into saying something on that particular thread? slave7,
you need to do two very important things before you continue your valiant campaign of free speech awareness against the oppressive, shadowy powers-that-be who are the org mod squad: 1. read the site rules, which are posted here: http://prince.org/msg/rules.html when you signed up as a member of the org, you had to approve of these rules and agree to abide by them before you would be granted full membership to this site. clearly, since you have an org account, you at one time approved of the rules of this site, yet now you're complaining about the rules. before you contradict yourself further, please carefully re-read the rules and then re-consider your arguments. i respect your role as a firebrand of free speech, but i want you to be ready to tackle the hard questions once your campaign for freedom gets off the ground. 2. understand a simple concept: THERE IS NO FREE SPEECH ON A PRIVATELY-OWNED SITE. our "freedom of speech" is only as free as the owner of this site will let it be. if the sitemaster of the org did not like profanity, then we would not be permitted to curse, and ya know why? because HE PAYS THE BILLS. this site is his baby. fortunately, our sitemaster ben is a pretty laid-back, free-thinking guy, but he does have certain rules of conduct that he expects us all to follow, which is why we mods are here. if you don't like the fact that your freedom of speech is limited by the person who owns this site, you ALWAYS have the option of starting your own, similar site where people can run free like the wind, baiting and trolling willy-nilly till the cows come home. but don't step into someone else's property and tell them they can't have rules. if you were invited to someone's house, would you respect their rules? same deal. now. once you've absorbed all that, come on back and let us know how you feel.

if you don't understand what baiting is, then here's a pretty good wikipedia link that breaks it down (with reference links at the end of the article, in case you'd like more explanation): http://en.wikipedia.org/w...(Internet)

[You see, this is one of those "us against them" threads that I feel don't do anyone any good. Problem with moderation on a thread you created? Problem with the rules? Problem with moderation in general? Take it to orgnote with the mod in question... and we'll deal with it there. - June7] |
