Well I don't care if they delete or close a thread, just figure out somehow to get rid of that color code that says there is new post when there isn't.

It totally goes against my style sensibilities.

Sometimes threads that get out of hand are "Hidden" ( Mods can still see them )
sometimes to be reopened after Mod actions - sometimes not

We hide them during " clean up " and sometimes they just are kept that way

different reasons I am sure

It's really not so hard to understand, Dewrede: Imagine yourself being trash talked, persecuted (strong word I know), slandered etc. on a thread. Now imagine that the mods actually have lives and nobody happens to be online for an hour. An hour is all it takes for a thread to go so very wrong. Would you like slander, insults etc against you stand there or would you like it hidden?
Also, threads where opinions/content break laws need to be hidden.

Thank you for saying that, so much more eloquent than I would have said it.
I feel bad when perfectly good threads have to be removed but it is better than letting someone be insulted by another Orger. It happened to me by someone I had barely talked to. I went through hell from him for a while. He kept insisting I was a different Orger, I proved him wrong and told him to contact the Orger he thought he had a problem with but he wouldn't listen to reason.
All is peaceful at the moment.

I don't get it either. I thought that was why things were snipped.
I guess it is easier to remove it for good than to snip a few comments.
I suppose that is why I have never wanted to be a mod.
I get bored with reading the nonsense and I think I have ADD.

This coming from someone that was here for years and did not even know you could block someone or report them.
I guess I do not pay too much attention to what most ppl say and I think ppl should be given the opportunity to be themselves for the most part.

Id say that some threads no matter how much you snip them have become so heated and combative that its just easier to delete them. Ive seen threads return and the bashing just starts up again.

I guess you are right in some cases but not all of them should disappear.
Just my twocents
I have seen where a thread has disappeared and then ppl feel the need to lie about what they said or did not say knowing that the thread has been taken down.

Some times words and posts are misinterpreted, taken out of context or twisted around and made to look worse than it was intended.

[Snips] work sometimes if caught early on

a thread can turn into a flame fest with far more then just a few [Snips] needed and yes, often times the flaming begins again soon as the thread is repsoted. So a lock may be issued or the thread just left on "Hidden" status

So that people understand - the Mods can still see/read the threads and see what was said or not, when dealing with Mod actions taken/needed

I understand the frustration when users can not though

I figured that the mods could still see the threads. That is a good thing.
