I can say that I haven't bothered to participate since Mutha started that thread about "getting along". I see that he's not interested in the slightest in getting along. Sorry that you can't see what I see. He needs to stop with the bullshit kindergarten antics. Or be banned.

It's funny you singled me out for not wanting to get along yet in that VERY SAME THREAD I CREATED you had NOTHING to say about mdiver who made his presence felt by NOT wanting a truce. Where were your comments to him? Why didn't you say anything then? You don't have a problem with him trying to ruin that thread with his beef with me but you then want to try and single me out just because other people that didn't want to honor my proposed truce decided to KEEP talking shit towards me and others? Explain that?

THEN explain the baiters that kept coming into our threads where everything was cool and then they'd excplain "Well, we were told we can't respond unless we were Black" - and this was said AFTER the proposed truth. So again, YOU tell me why should I honor those that never had any intentions of honoring ME?

I was cool for a long time with the baiters and even reported the baiters yet nothing was done, the only action I saw was a locked thread, a snip, or a thread removal, neither of which stopped the baiters. So what that did was give them carte blanche to keep baiting, mainly at Gray and I, since we're the most outspoken. So, where were you when the baiting started and kept going? Nowhere.

See, I can see if you had tried to step in to stop some of the bickering, but when you take the sidelines and don't do shit and THEN decide to speak up after it's gotten bad - Then I can't respect your actions. At all.

Again, check the Olive Branch thread and you will SEE for yourself who wasn't down with it and who decided to KEEP the beefs going.

its really about trying and allowing a person to change. If you've already pegged a person as unchangeable then in your own mind, they won't.

P&R has never been peaceful. This is really one of the first times we've had such a showing from the GD regulars. P&R has never been modded heavily to allow exchanges of ideas no matter how heated. This is one of the first times its gotten personal ALL the time.

Lines have been drawn in the sand and this is really the major issue. There's an us against them mentality so no matter if the POST is on point, who posted has more weight.

What do you mean by that?

Is it any number (of gangs) is too many? (ie, there should be none)

Or one (of the gangs) specifically is too many? (ie, if your Mum came with you on a date she would be "one too many")

Just a clarification, non-aggresive! smile

There's the old saying "you can lead a horse to water...."

I think there are those that don't want to change things. Stubborn? Like a bit of drama? Don't want to even try? Who knows. shrug

But there are those that do, and the only way forward for them IMO is to ignore and hope that by taking the lead others might follow. But that's easier said than done. And it dilutes the discussions which is what it's all about in the first place. confused

Of course there's another saying which could be the obvious answer, "never discuss politics and religion...." eek

Honestly I don't know what's up in P&R. I haven't been posting there for the past few months because it's been boring as hell!
America's political system used to be about the "pursuit of happiness." Now more and more of us want to stop chasing it and have it delivered.

You hit the nail on the head and that was discovered in the "olive branch" thread.

could it just be possilbe for everyone to instead of getting personal just ignore the posts of the people that push their buttons?

like i know at certain times i can't talk to my biomother or my drag mother because i know they can push my buttons and cause me to fly off the handle, at those times i just don't talk to them.

I was asking myself that question as well, but I guess people are not willing to do so sigh.
