A film or visual media forum? I think it would be nice to have a movie or visual arts forum. Maybe a books and movies forum instead since I see the other person's want for a book forum. It's so hard to weed through all the vulgarity and mild porn and photowhore threads on GD to find anything about books or movies.
Any thoughts? America's political system used to be about the "pursuit of happiness." Now more and more of us want to stop chasing it and have it delivered.

Any thoughts? I think that's a great idea. I'd love to see a movie and/or book forum. The GD gets way crazy some days, that's for sure [Edited 1/16/08 11:40am]

Any thoughts? To be honest, I don't find it all that hard to weed thru all the the vulgarity, mild porn & photowhore threads over in the GD forum. But then again, I'm a hoe.

Ex-Moderator | While I appreciate the interest, I personally do not see the need for additional forums on prince.org at this time. The forums we currently have make sense considering the the overall subject of the site is Prince and music related. The GD forum came about because people wanted to have discussions that were not Prince/music related. The P&R forum was broken off at one time and I understand why, but I don't see a need to break any further topics of discussion at this time. And I'm not sure there would be enough subject matter/participants to warrant it's own forum.
If you wish to "elevate" the level of what's going on in GD, I'd suggest going in and participating. There are plenty of threads that are about both film and books and other subjects that are not photowhore/porn related. And it could certainly stand a few more. The forum can only reflect the particpants in it. |

Fair enough Carrie Mpls and Mach. This is a Prince fan website so I guess we should be only talking about Prince.
Do any other mods have an opinion on this? I definitely think there is enough of an interest in movies and books to start its own forum. America's political system used to be about the "pursuit of happiness." Now more and more of us want to stop chasing it and have it delivered.
