P&R Suggestion

Can we get comments snipped instead of entire threads removed?

Sometimes there is still a conversation within the madness and you look up and the thread is gone. I just think a snip is good enough and a warning to stay on topic. After that go after the parties involved and not just remove the thread.

I know Mach does a good job over there so this isn't about her mod skills.

While I do not mod P&R I can understand how sometimes that happens. There are times I have hidden a thread because by the time there was a report on it (or there was a mod online to look at the reports) it has gone so far off topic and there is so much to clean up it could be hours of work to bring it back into focus. At that point, it's really not worth it, imho.
But if it's a one or two reply spat, I have no issues snipping.

Just my two cents...

You all are agreeing but some threads get pulled and they aren't that long and could be snipped.

I'll just talk with Mach directly

No offense, I think the responses here are just an easy way out.

Often times - even after several on thread warnings/suggestions, orgnotes sent and snips made - strikes/bans issued - the crap keeps going and going and going - so the thread is sometimes removed

You could always start a new thread based on the GOOD conversation you were having inside a deleted thread thumbs up!

I don't get it. It seems like some don't want to do what they volunteered to do.

I do THE very best I can in the time I can be here - I have a very busy home life and my priorities are in line as to what I feel I need to do during each day

oh well ... I know in my heart I do all I can do with my choice to volunteer as a P&R mod - and that is all that matters to me

Yes they do, they just don't do it in the way you want, that is different to not doing what they volunteered to do which is moderate

fine, let me get on-topic: most of the mods here do an unbiased, great job. if you think they don't just because they don't agree with you, that's YOUR issue, not theirs. shrug

This is what I don't appreciate. You don't me, you don't shit about me, so therefore you are not qualified to tell me how I feel about anything here. Notice, someone else already responded to what I said stating they felt the mods do a great job without making it personal. You want to come on her an make a personal statement you don't know shit about. I've been on the org 10 years. I've seen the changes and know what fuck is going on here. Don't you ever come on here speaking for me and my feelings. I don't do it to you.

I don't have to explain anything to you. Besides, there are way too many examples and situations. They don't allow issues to be spoken of publicly. You know that shit. If everything is Utopia for you, so be it. Not everyone agrees with you. Don't think I'm the only one who knows the same thing I know about the moderation here

You and mdiver did not say the same thing. You made an out of line comment about my alleged feelings and asked me why I post here, getting personal

there's so many yet you can't name even one? lol no, it's not utopia by any means, i don't agree with everything all the moderators do. but at leasti have the sense not to accuse them of playing god without backing it up at all. falloff

Are you serious? You know we are not allowed to talk about specific issues publicly. I have plenty to back it up, trust me. You're clueless

They do moderate, simple. Just because you don't like the way they do that it is not playing God.

There is a really simple solution to it though, if you don't like the way it is done...leave.

No he doesn't, because neither he or you really know what things I'm talking about that have happened over time. It is not you or anyone else's place to tell them to leave or stay anywhere, unless it's your home

it's not telling, it's suggesting. smile

so what, your only point here is to offer gloomy allusions to the secret underbelly of org moderation without being constructive at all? awesome.
