I read this last night and found it very interesting about living for the present moment as we know that Prince does.

"If you find it hard to enter the NOW directly, start by observing the habitual tendency of your mind to want to escape from the Now. You will observe that the future is usually imagined as either better or worse than the present...

If the imagined future is better it gives you hope or pleasurable anticipation
If it is worse, based on the past, it creates anxiety and fear.

Both are illusory.

We as people will use clock time, but living for right Now free's us from psychological time.

I say hello to everyone. Right now. although a goodbye is quickly approaching, if I don't keep saying it. I'm confused. Hello again.

We r all somewhat public figures on the net, does this mean we must all forfeit (self)respect and common courtesy, the way some of y'all xpect Prince 2!?

The hypocrisy kills me.
Keep hiding... loser

Unless your surname is "7", by definition, you must be the biggest hypocrite here then!

Catch your drift. I don't feel adressed, that's my real name and my profile shows just me and my first name. I've got nothing to hide anyway.

No, not xactly. Freedom of choice is 1 thing, but how u go about xhibiting that freedom of choice is another. Especially when the choices we all make as individuals r heralded on a site which I imagine was born out of overall love & respect 4 the artist. RESPECT.

U wanna have foul mouthed opinions, make ill in4med decisions that's fine that's ur choice, but when u start imposing those things upon others, especially in places such as this where supposed supporters/critics of an artist collectively meet, honestly 1 should sometimes xercise some restraint. Being 'anonymous' may often deter people from really thinking things thru, and contemplating the outcome of their actions. neutral I'm as guilty as the next fan btw. by no means innocent at all.
This whole 'internet free4all' business is such a load of bull. The world was a much nicer place b4 cell phones & the internet, I'm convinced. Either that or i'm gettin old... lol
And as a sidenote, Prince if ur reading this, try sueing some1 worthwhile like that geek Bill Gates. He's the ultimate instigator of all of this afterall. geek

Okay, I still don't get what you're saying.

...Look, like others in this thread have said, Prince is a public figure. People are going to comment on him and the things he does. Some of it is going to be positive commentary, some of it is going to be negative. It comes with the territory.

I really don't see where the anonymity factor comes in, either. You don't know everyone posting on the forum to say what they would or wouldn't say to his face.

First of all, unless you're being really crafty and you've definitely got something to hide, there's no complete anonymity on the internet. Don't believe me? Threaten a certain someone in the White House and time how fast the men in black get to your door!

And second, the world was a cruel place long before the internet and cell phones! Always has been, always will be! Get over it!

While you and Prince are busy bawl in your Cap' N' Crunch about the bad things we mean people say about him because we're hiding behind our computer screens. The majority of us remember the bad things that meaner people have said to our faces because we like him and his music in the first place!

Back in the day before the internet and cellphones, when Prince was all mysterious and ego tripping like crazy(well yeah, I very well could be talking about just yesterday but try to follow the story anyway!wink) There weren't any real life places I could go and hang out where the number of people that liked Prince outnumbered the people that didn't! Until I started joining fan clubs in the magazines 98% of the time it was just me and The Electrifying Mojo! Especially after his "Around The World And A Day" period!

If he heard the vile things people would say to my face if I mentioned Raspberry Beret or Paisley Park, his big baby butt probably wouldn't be here! I can't even tell you how times I've heard that..."How can you like Prince..." statement before somebody started getting on my damn nerves because of him, his music or something trippy he did...just because I happen to like him and his music...alot!

You know what...I guess that's why I'm so pissed at him. I've had to fight for the right to enjoy him, his music, his pictures, his videos, for his entire career and now I've got to fight HIM to do the same.

Now, I want a bowl of Cap' N' Crunch because this shit's fucked up! bawl

yes getting older is a dead cert!!! and the "world" was a much more private place than it is now - and a bit more mysterious - now everything is available in some format or other and sometimes this is positive and sometimes there are disadvantages
"C'mon y'all - let me hear you sing, c'mon y'all, shake, c'mon y'all, jump" - Yes Prince -
"London do you feel for me what I feel for you"- yes Prince -
"Can I play my guitar now?" - yes please

First, read the top of the page prince.org INDEPENDENT and UNOFFICIAL Prince fan community site.

A place to feel at ease to discuss all things and feelings Prince, good and bad.

The argument has been around for years...you find some things posted being disrespectful..FINE...you're as entitled to that feeling as the person is who posted what you find offensive. And if you find it that offensive, if you find a particular .orger THAT offensive DON'T READ WHAT THEY POST. You have that choice even "where supposed supporters/critics of an artist collectively meet."

SHOULD some of the folks say what they say? Probably not...they can be pretty damn mean, but do they have the RIGHT to say it? Yes.

Many things that are truly out of line...starting rumors, hurtful speculation etc are taken off straight away. Lately, more has been left as posted as emotions were riding very high. I don't disagree with that decision at all.

Anything I say here I'd say to Prince, period. Why don't I post my full name and picture here? Because this is the fucking internet and there are really insane people trolling around on it.
