How does it make you feel?

When you post something and nobody responds to what you have to say?

or how about when you start a new topic and nobody posts?

I thought this was a good question because there seem to be little clicks here and some people get zero recognition because of it. While I'm not one who feels left out, I've read some people's irritation/disappointment.

Personally, I just say "oh well I guess people don't care about what I care about" but how about you popular people who can start a topic on what just happened at the store and get 300 replies?

How does that make YOU feel?

I find that the more you post, whether it's your own thread or an opinion on someone else's thread, the more you put yourself out there - into people's thought train.

Then your personality comes out - people will either like it or not. Most likely, they will post to that effect, in both senses.

I've had threads die a quick death, and have had some fairly popular threads... I guess one should take the topic into account as well.

Fair enough...

I've posted and it seems like I've got the plague as I'm talking to myself in a thread but again, it doesn't bother me.

Farrahmoan is a young orger who can't get someone to piss on him if he was on fire but people will post all day on someone's I don't feel good or I'm bored thread all day.

My question was do you find it frustrating that you're not in with a click or do you let it roll off your back? June7 obviously does the later.

I'm definitely not in the click and I don't care either. Some people here are only looking for attention and they somehow get it even when they post meaningless threads.

I just try to enjoy what I read about Prince and try to learn from some of the discussions and take the rest with a grain of salt.

I wouldnt take it personally. Its just what you ask and whether its open ended. If its of personal interest to you and perhaps not to others I wouldnt be too surprised if hardly anyone posts on my thread. If I started a thread about West Ham's defensive frailties Id expect little reply.

By the way, pose me those questions Id forgotten to answer as a thread if you like! smile

I used to be able to kill threads with a single post. still happens from time to time, but not as much as it used to.

It was an Org question because I've read people becoming frustrated, period.

So now they need to be judged too? Let's apply some judgement to flirting with people on the other side of the world or pouring your personal life onto a web site and see how you two fair. lol

Everything's cool, it was an innocent question that really had nothing to do with me. Just a question looking for honest answers and I've gotten them, thanks. Again, this thread has shown what a disfuntional family we've established here on the Org.

I forgot the detailed list of questions, it's alright.

i just don't understand what you want people to do; everything isn't always going to be replied to. lol i don't see how that's dysfunctional.

and you can judge me all you like, i've no problem admitting i have great fun flirting with someone who lives on the other side of the world yay!

I don't have to do anything beautiful, I was joking. This place has a lot family element without a doubt. We all go through life changes and share them here (me too) and I've met orgers who will be friends for life. Dysfunction, yeah, I've seen that too!

Wow Slave, them's fighting words but I'm afraid you'll have to work much harder to get a raise out of Laurel or me, we've heard it ALL before bored

So let me ask you - if you're in a big group irl and you say something and everybody don't reply to it or have an opinion, do you get upset then too? Are you really saying we all have an obligation to reply to threads about topics we don't give a shit about just to be nice? Hell no, you're def on the wrong track.

Wasn't trying to spew fighting words or get a raise out of either of you...again, I was noticing newer people who were getting frustrated by nobody responding and I was looking for honest answers as to how it made EVERYONE feel. That's all, no obligations, no be nice to everybody, just, what's your take on this.

Personally, I don't think these people need to reevaluate their priorities or are nuts or need to be judged because they see people who have become friends here and feel left out. If anything, it saddens me a bit because people are lonely and trying to reach out without a response from the org that I've grown to appreciate and love as one big dysfunctional family.

One more time, when I post and am talking to myself it doesn't bother me in the slightest. When I start a thread and nobody responds, I just think, oh well I guess it's just me who thinks like this.

Just an observation of some newbies and asking for another opinion...

1. I don't care if anyone responds to my posts.

2.I'll start a new topic, get bored with it, and stop posting on it within hours, so I don't care if others do or don't respond to topics I present. If you start a new topic, you kind of need to stick with it, and that makes the darn thing too much "work".

There are members who interact with each other daily, and go back and forth, with off topic discussions. It depends on my mood how I feel about it. Sometimes it's a topic that should be addressed seriously, but gets lost with the silly banter.

Furthermore, don't think it's something about yourself, or how you think, at all. Most here are 20 years younger than I am. I just post whatever I want, sometimes edit for a variety of reasons in hindsight, and plug along. You have to get something out of being here.....and find a way of doing so. biggrin

Well not getting a response is better than getting attitude! And then you'll have to wind up cutting someone.....with words that is lurking

I don't usually care myself. But I know one who has stopped posting because ahe was constantly ignored and made to feel stupid because she's dyslexic and has trouble spelling. It's a pity because she's a lovely person who has a lot to add to the Org.
Some people here are so mean.

I've said this time and time again, the reason I do not have an avatar is easy..I can not "resize" and everytime I try and pick an avatar..it says the one I have chosen is too big! confused
Secondly, I have always been some sort of "PaisleyPark" on the internet, be it my screen name, e-mail address, etc. The "5083" are the numbers in my home address. cool
