The sad thing is that a number of the threads on his appearance and personal life are started by non-MJ fanatics.

that poster known as "fluid" lol

nod And a couple of other orgers in the past. It is a vicious cycle. Who agrees with me that next month another orger will ask: "Michael Jackson: Black or White" or "Prince: His Parents and Race." I am sure these orgers mean well; I guess some of them do not realize these topics have been beaten to death on this site and other MJ and Prince-related forums.

If it clearly states at the top of the board to go easy on the multiple topic/same artist threads then they need to be locked. We don't need a new thread for every faction of MJ's existence.

I've also noticed a few new members who seem to only post about MJ. They just signed up to Prince.org to talk about MJ as opposed to going to an MJ board.

And yes, I've contributed to a couple MJ threads but I definitely don't start them.

How many times can you go over your favorite songs from [insert album here]?

Of course his minions would see multiple threads as a sign of his greatness and how relevant he still is, not their total fanatacism. rolleyes

Thanks for judging the unknown. Didn't know you were a mind reader. Yes that exactly what I thought the multiple threads were a sign of MJ's greatness. I couldn't possibly be just simply replying to any of them because I am interested in any particular topic confuse No seriously, its rather rude to ASSume how a group of people might feel about something. In fact, its more like wishful thinking; a funny idea you thought of and put it in the mouth of your's desired. Now, if people don't want MJ threads to populate, you're only making them stay by replying to them. And theres a lot of non-MJ fans and even ones 'haters' who keep them going.

I'll admit, I'm only a casual Prince fan (note the profile). But I don't talk about MJ in the General Discussion, I talk in the Non-Prince section. Is that against the rules? eek
[Edited 8/20/07 21:48pm]

I'm not judging anyone. If you feel offended maybe I struck a chord. I purposely didn't name anyone despite the request and there is always the possibility that I could be wrong but I've been here quite a while and I notice a pattern and I 'spoke' on it. If you ain't one of them, don't worry about it.

Maybe we should just have one MJ-related thread where everyone can post?

yeah, that would work, but where the hell are the mods...

This is what I was wondering. On that "MJ Image Complex" thread the MJ fans were having a collective nervous breakdown because someone was raising logical points they didn't like. Incredibly, their comments ("You're a fucking retard" etc.) still have not been snipped. I wouldn't mention it, except I've seen people get rapped over the knuckles for things that were totally reasonable. Yet here you have playground namecalling taking the place of rational discussion and nothing happens.

For as Long as i can remember, This section of the Org was ruled by Madonna, Michael Jackson Fans , and Janet, its been like this since the org was first created, and it will never end,
The mods have tried in the past to stop the flow, but it hasn't really worked, maybe cause they never enforced it strong enough,
fact is u cantcontrol the influx of people making mj threads unless u just delete their threads

Someone suggested a sticky. I think that's a great idea since this has been an ongoing situation that's probably never going to end. Maybe a sticky could at least help alleviate the multiple threads and then there would always be a place to go when an MJ thought popped up instead of creating a whole new thread.

But sometimes people get silly with it or they start ridiculous threads on purpose. It can be fun but when there are 9 MJ threads in the top 20--and I'm not exaggerating--it's a bit much.

I know, I know, I was taking a chance but I was expressing my dislike of Talib working with him and that the song was lame. Maybe I should have put the angry red emoticon face next to it.

I am quite new to the org compared to you. But I was under the impression that the moderators are suppose to keep in control threads that have little to do with constructive criticism and discussion of his music and performance. While I contributed to threads (like you) on his apperance recently, I was surpised that none of them were transferred to "General Discussion" or "Politics and Religion."

Until recently, the moderators' disclaimer at the top of the forum concerning multiple threads on the same topic specifically cited Michael Jackson-related threads as an example. The MJ-related threads that I mentioned have been discussed constantly since I've been a member, so it's not treading new ground. The people who think it's new ground tend to be those who have not been members long.

An MJ sticky makes sense to me, particularly because it seems there are quite a few people who like to comment on Michael Jackson. Since all the threads seem to be going down the same roads, it's reasonable to combine them.
THE TRAFFIC JAMMERS, The Org's house band: VAINANDY -- lead singer; NAJEE -- bass; THE AUDIENCE -- guitar; PHUNKDADDY -- rhythm guitar; ALEX de PARIS -- keyboards; Da PRETTYMAN -- keyboards; FUNKENSTEIN -- drums. HOLD ON TO YOUR DRAWERS!

I think we should just ban people who make more than 5 MJ/Madonna threads a day, they'll get the message then...

I love Talib that's why I was disappointed to hear that he worked with JT just because they used to run into each other and thought it would be great to collaborate because people wouldn't expect it. That's reasoning to do a song together? And the song is wack in my opinion.

I'm just tired of everyone hooking up with Justin like he's the second coming. For Talib to now be on this list is just disbelief

But you know Justin is producing on his own now and beginning to gain quite the name. Even when he works with Timbaland he’s getting noticed for his individual input. God, I sound like I’m praising him but I’m not. I’m just afraid he’s going to be popping up everywhere as a guest artist or producer. He’s on Macy Gray’s CD and I just heard he did a duet with Shanice! mad

Well, as you've already stated, only SOME have posted to the 50 zillion threads in question. Include me in the ones that haven't contributed to them. I am tired of seeing this forum being flooded with threads about MJ. An ocassional thread here and there is cool, but flooding the forum with MJ thread is NOT cool.
Take the STANNING to one of his fan sites.

Report the threads on MJ to the moderators if you feel like they are flooding Prince: Music: Non-Prince.

And I agree with pappaaisaway, this thread should be in the "prince, org site discussion" forum.

look broseph i've been an engineer for a good 5 years now. Ive worked with some biggies, i presently intern at electric Lady Land over in NYc.
I can tell ya that the wholes co-writing and producing this is a fallacy.
9 times out of ten its the recording label trying to get their artist more accolade. All a person has to do is change one small thing in an audio composition and they are a co-producer, or change one word in a song and they are a co-song writer. This is a tactic used by Madonna Beyonce and even Michael Jackson. the day justin produces and writes something all by his lonesome self. Call me

I hear you and believe you.

I want to think that Justin has something besides his name and his bland looks that would make someone like Talib want to collaborate. I want to believe he brings something to the table for people to ride his ass so blatantly. At least with Macy he was a spillover from Will.I.Am’s contribution. Not that it makes it any better but understandable.

As long as he doesn’t show up on Erykah, Van Hunt or MeShell then I think I’ll be alright.
