Christ Almighty, when did this turn into MichaelJackson.Org?

Fucking stop it!

All the loads and loads of musicians and singers and bands out there, and easily half the threads when I come in here are devoted to Mr. Jackson.

Yeah, I know. Some of you will bitch, why not start new threads about someone else? Why not, indeed.

Here's a few ideas for you, since you've all got your heads up Michael's ass, lately:

-Gustav Mahler: Nutty Mama's Boy, or genuine limp?
-Blondie: their debut album vs. Parallel lines
-Just how much did 8 Mile lift from Purple Rain?
-50 cent and the Game: Lover's Spat?
-Gush about your love for the Neverending Story song
-What's up with the sexuality in the Little Mermaid's Poor Unfortunate Souls?
-Jim Morrison's death conspiracy theories
-Sly Stone's (sorta) re-emergence
-The fact that Backstreet Boys have managed to stick around fourteen years in a genre with a shelf life of three.
-The Lyrics to Bowie's Thursday's Child
-Your favourite Monkee
-Who's more of a big girl, Robert Smith or Morrisey?
-Killer TV theme songs
-Grunge's saving or destroying of rock

Yeah, some of these topics are stupid, but they're something different at least. Give it a try, folks. You might find it fun. thumbs up!

For the record, because I know someone'll bring it up, I did post earlier on an MJ thread. But to hell with it. This place is filled with enough crazies for/against MJ without adding any more fuel to the fire. If anyone catches me posting in an MJ thread from now on, feel free to kick my ass.

The problem is one person (fluid) started these threads on Michael Jackson and his appearance (threads which I contributed to as well, I am afraid). Then, another person, thekidsgirl, in jest, bumped previous posts related to Michael Jackson with his or her picture of an ape, thus flooding a page ALREADY filled with MJ or Jackson-related topics.

Someone needs to get all this MJ shit off this site.

One or two threads, fine. An entire page?

Has MJ not got his own forum for fucks sake?

I agree, there are too many MJ threads and the ironic thing is....there's no news to report on Michael Jackson. No news on a new album or tour. These threads are just re-hashing old discussions that we've had a million times already.

Come on,guys....STOP IT! Wait until there is actually some real news to discuss.

I agree. In fact, I think the moderators should lock two of the three threads on Michael Jackson and his appearance. One is enough. As for the other threads related to his MUSIC and PERFORMANCE from the '60s to even '00s -- I think those are fine. But, a number of these threads related to Jackson were bumped up by somone in jest.

No offense, while I agree with you that the Michael Jackson threads are getting excessive, this forum is entitled "Music: Non-Prince," meaning that a orger is free to discuss ANY musician that he or she wants to, whether that be Michael Jackson, Madonna, Jaent Jackson, David Bowie, or The Beatles. In fact, some of these threads on Michael Jackson would not have lasted as long as some of them have if it were not for the non-MJ fans.

That's true, this is the "Music:Non Prince forum" but I still do not see the need for numerous MJ threads, especially when there is no news to report on him. When he announces a release date for a new album.....there should be a thread. When he announces a tour, there should be a thread. When someone re-discovers an old MJ song that they wanna spotlight....go ahead, create a thread about it.But let's not get crazy here! How many times can we discuss his freakish appearance and the lightening of his skin?

I agree. Threads on his music and performance I have no problem with. But I guess it is up to the moderators how the long-tired threads on his appearnce (which again, I have contributed to, I am afraid) are dealt with.

If it clearly states at the top of the board to go easy on the multiple topic/same artist threads then they need to be locked. We don't need a new thread for every faction of MJ's existence.

I've also noticed a few new members who seem to only post about MJ. They just signed up to Prince.org to talk about MJ as opposed to going to an MJ board.

And yes, I've contributed to a couple MJ threads but I definitely don't start them.

How many times can you go over your favorite songs from [insert album here]?

Of course his minions would see multiple threads as a sign of his greatness and how relevant he still is, not their total fanatacism. rolleyes

The sad thing is that some of the topics on his personal life are started by non-MJ fanatics.

And I also do not find problematic the threads on his music and performance. If anyone has a problem with reading a thread on a song that has already been talked about several months ago, ignore it. Leave it to the moderators to handle the situation.

I mean, face it. Threads on Michael Jackson, Madonna, and Janet Jackson are bound to appear more on a Prince-related website than threads on Incubus, Celine Dion, and Barbra Streisand.

I haven’t noticed them starting threads, they just pop up in established threads with pro-MJ posts. Some have less than 100 or 50 posts but they’re always in MJ threads. It’s like there was an eviction at a nearby MJ board and they all came to the Org for new digs. lol

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Well I very rarely post MJ related threads on here but I do talk about Prince a lot at MJ's sites as i've noticed that MJ fans are starting to talk about Prince A LOT on his site these days. The difference there however is that they usually have one thread in the non-MJ music sections of the board dedicated to Prince so they confine all the Prince chatter to one thread.

Although I am a huge MJ fan and post on his boards I have to agree that there are WAYYY too many MJ related threads on this site. If I wanted to only talk about MJ, I would stick to only posting at his boards but I come here to talk about and find info about other artists because I actually like other artists besides MJ. I am sick to death of all these Jackson related threads period. I'm tired of both the Janet and MJ threads on here, but the MJ threads are the absolute worse and the thing is that it's the same things being discussed time and time again by the same people mostly. MJ fans and Non-MJ fans are both to blame for this. They have gone overboard with it.

From now on though, if the topic has nothing to do with his music or career I am not even going to bother responding. I'm just bored with these same discussions already.
