  • change refresh default from zero to 20

  • have actual chat guidlines written under the "help" button

  • give emoticons their own button



people come in chat and leave because they can't figure out why
the room doesn't move on it's own. and as patient and helpful
as chatroom people are it gets very tedious explaining the same
thing over and over when it could be done in FAQ style.

i dunno. anyway, i agree with what you said about the chat. nod or have the chat link to a separate chatroom that works in a way more people are familiar with.

I've been drafting something specifically for the chatroom off and on, it's not finalized. I'll be running it by ben when it's time.

Whenever ppl come in and ask "how to" etc., I am more than happy to help them anytime.

yes, i know we've discussed this before
i would think since everyone changes the auto refresh to 20 anyway
that unless it messes something up severely in the code
that making it default would erase a lot of confusion to new chat peeps.

you and i both know that a lot of people come in and leave without even typing a word
and hence they would think no one is talking since the room won't refresh for them.
if they leave without refreshing then the willingness of everyone in the room to help does jack all for them. confused
