"Fixed" a major bug, I think.

OK, there is a major problem around moving threads on the site, in that it recalculates some information that is extremely expensive (time-wise). This causes the database to get busy, and then the site basically goes down sad

I've changed the code a bit tonight such that it should avoid the really expensive recalculation. This should at least keep the org from locking up so often...

MissMe

When I go into GD, and click on a thread, a pop up asks me if I want to download this file. I press cancel, but I can't seem to click anywhere, cos this pop up keeps coming up and preventing me from clicking on a thread or posting.

Can you help, and look into this please?

Earlier today, I would have said "I have never had that problem"

But...it started happening to me, and not just GD, the whole site sad

Altho...switching to Internet Explorer (I normally use Firefox) seems to have fixed it.

Altho now...I can't see any avatars, just red x's hmm

The 'download a file' thing is a bug in the "maintenance mode" code, which I put up when I'm working on the site. But now that's busted too smile

Anyhow we will have sporadic times this weekend for that, as I'm trying to do some database upgrades, etc.
