Well, when I start making threads about someone's dick turning brown you can say whatever you like about me.

rose I didn't place a judgement on you at all. I was pointing out that you too could be viewed as a "looser" from you comment here, by others.

I would not place judgement on another by a few posts or thread topics

IMO - I guess I wasn't the only one who found the thread offensive. I never asked that it be removed. I don't consider myself to be a prude, but threads such as that are not necessary on a site like this.

In my opinion, you have to ask those who left why they left. I don't know their reasons, and I assume they are individual. I think most of the time, it has more to do with their own lives than anything "going on" at the org. I've been here over 5 years and while there are always different phases and such, overall it really doesn't change. The people may change over a bit, the topics a bit, we all (OK, most) get excited over new Prince news/music/etc. but I don't see significant changes in the community, really. Other than, there's a lot less drama and flaming then there was in a certain era. And for me, that's a positive change.

I also think it has to do getting tired of immature posters who always insult others. It gets annoying as hell

Seriously though.

I would LOVE to go in there and talk about Prince. But ya have to weed through a bunch of nonsense first. Its RIDICULOUS. And the people in there are like Parana's. If ya get ONE teeny Prince fact slightly off, they JUMP to make a PRICK outta ya. GD is cliquey???? That place is a chopping block!

The moderation isn't consistent and some individual members are favoured by some individual moderators.

In addition to this, one moderator in particular has a tendency to move or lock threads with little or no apparent rhyme or reason. Maybe that moderator believes their actions to be humourous - but they are responsible for driving more Org members away more than any other single factor.

The forums should have been upgraded years ago to allow duplicate threads to be merged rather than locked. It's very dispiriting (especialy for newbies) when your accidentally duplicated thread is locked with a curt message.

There is bullying here too. If you voice an opinion or perespective which goes against the grain of the bOrg majority, you will be reviled, insulted and patronised with little or no assistance from the moderators.

And finally, religiosity is encoraged, whereas a non-theist stance is ridiculed.

rolleyes The Prince forum is no worse than GD. Also in GD there are plenty of hilarious and interesting threads, but mostly it's full of crap and silliness. It's like the senior level of compulsory school all over again. IMO, GD is even worse than the Prince forum. If you aren't a frequent GD poster you easily get ignored. There often are threads which you won't fully understand if you're not part of a certain org clique or threads that are just nonsense that you could be delt with through orgnotes. Therefore I prefer to spend my time in Prince: Music & More. He is after all the reason I became a member of this community. I joined this place to talk with people about Prince, to learn more about him and music in general. I did not become a member to read private stuff that are going on between orgers. But I'm not just going to hate over GD. There are some lovely people and plenty of funny/interesting/helpful threads as well.

And yes, I am pretty certain that some people have left this place due to some of the mods' behaviour, especially one mod now. Is it Ben you contact if you have complaints? Because it's pretty disgusting what is going on here at times.

I'm not saying one is any better than the other.

Just that I found that the people in GD were more willing to accept you than the ppl in the prince forum.

Dag, Venus... well put. I would say that the GD section is exactly as U just described... it's just a clique, without any dimension. Sadly, the "Prince - Music & More" section has become frustrating 4 me, because there has been alot more non-music topics there, and my main concern is the music. I just started a thread about splitting the "Prince - Music & More" section into 2 sections... one 4 music (which includes lyrics), and one 4 all else... who he should marry, who he's boning or should bone, hair, shoes, clothing, and other style commentary, etc. That way, the musicians, and others who care mostly about the music, don't have 2 weed through the..ah... other stuff...
