Seems like every time I check the Org recently, more and more threads are littered with nonsense involving the "race" issue.

...Why doesn't Prince date Black women?
...Is Sheila E Black?
...Why did J-Lo say the "N" word?

Is it really necessary to dredge these issues here? In a forum composed of people who (supposedly) are united in their appreciation of a musical genius? Why?

There are many INTELLIGENT venues where people can turn to for INTELLIGENT insight on race and how our (American) society deals with our problems, (and what to do about it).

Watch a political discussion forum. Read a newspaper. Read a book. Join a political party for Chr*st's sake!

But please don't use the Org to incite and propagate these ridiculous tit-for-tats between people of different views, calling each other names and trying to degrade each other for what they believe. It's childish, a waste of time, and just not appropriate.

So I say...let's ban the race card on the Org, and get back to the basics of LOVE FOR ONE ANOTHER!

Its very simple, though we as humans rarely seek that path... I do not post (no matter how much I sooo might desire) on threads of idiotic content... Content intended to insight just such response. Now, assuming that we all followed that policy this very issue would not be here in the forum..there by.. I may assume that there is now and always will be individuals who not only select to waste there time, but enjoy this form of rhetoric ... so I can only be in control of me... I move on to what insights me

when people discuss race here one of two things occur..


1) it reminds us all how completly stupid people can still be

2) it allows for the discussion of race relations to continue (in a society that seems to ignore the fact that racism still exists)

i would agree with you if at one point our society had achieved utopia and racism was eliminated...but thats just not the case...and any reminder, that we *all* need to work on equality is a good thing...even on a music site...

love4oneanother is another silly lil concept by prince, thrown out like a peace sign but never reinforced with applicable solutions...

I agree. The race car should be banned. Who needs to go 200 mph when there are no roads to drive that fast?
