I'm not sure I've ever had a thread with 0 replies just fall off the first page and die a quiet death, but that's mainly down to Imago. However, I have had probably 25+ threads not reach more than about 4 or 5 posts, and if I'm honest haven't started a good thread in over 3 years. I've been here 3 years.
