I think Ian is doing fine now..(with the acception of his tacky Bobby Brady like signature...Ian- The Hall Monitor..rolleyes).

I don't find his signature tacky at all--it merely has his name and "prince.org moderator." Why shouldn't he identify himself as a moderator? Otherwise, new users might wonder, "Who the heck is this guy and what makes him think he can tell me what I can and can't post?"

says the actual hall-monitor...

oh wait, i don't post in this forum anymore biggrin oops!

just be glad that you can post at all, no?

indeed! lol it really sucks when you're told that you're creating more work for the moderators because 1) one of them has a personal grudge against you and freely admits to scrutinizing your posts more than anyone else's and 2) people like Nep2nes talk trash all day long, but go and report you for every post. if that's creating more work for them, ah well... what can i do about it? except sit here and not be able to send orgnotes with my account restricted. and not have even received any notification about it.

of course, the restriction came immediately after i'd sent ONE orgnote today. and funny, matt was mentioned in it. think maybe there are privacy concerns when you send an orgnote? think a moderator might be reading messages meant for other orgers? i'm starting to think so...

I suggest you immediately post every thought in your head on a new topic, so you don't have to use those damned annoying orgnotes. That seems to be what the mods are trying to get you to do. We, being adults for the most part, can choose to ignore threads we don't like, so a deluge of topics won't be a problem! Right?

yes, it is strange that i'm such a huge problem on the forums that they choose to restrict my orgnote priveleges instead of suspending my posting priveleges. it's almost like they WANT more work... no? haven't they realized by now that i rise to the challenge? this one, specifically? biggrin

That's the reason I changed it actually, and my avatar - in case new users were like "who the f*ck is this guy telling what I can post?". biggrin

I miss the Fritos! smile

i think ian's doing a good job and i bet it's not half as much fun for him as everyone thinks. but, he has the advantage of being a long-term orger so he has perspective and hopefully a sense of humor about being unappreciated
hey ian

Tom - get over it man. I locked your thread. End of story.

You neglected to mention that I offered to reopen the thread for you if you could edit it to at least PRETEND to be interested in generating some discussion.

And in case you still weren't sure, here's a quote from the forum rules:

Moderators have absolute rights.
prince.org administrators and moderators reserve the right to edit, relocate and/or remove any message, at any time, for any reason. Consider all editing decisions final. If you don't agree with a decision, you may discuss it with the moderator who made the judgement in private, but you aren't 'entitled' to a "hearing" or even a response. The rules outlined on this page, above, will be used as moderation guidelines.

Sheesh, if every person who had their thread locked decided to throw a hissy fit on the Site Discussion forum, this would take over from GD as the most popular.

I think Ian is a great moderator. So is Ben. Matt's another story, but I'm sure he tries. And 2 out of 3 ain't bad, is it?

Honey, Ben's such a sweetheart I get cavities just thinking about him.

Matt, well, he has his uppity side but child, he never ceases to surprise me - he is smooth as velvet in communicating his decisions. Have mercy! He's one of those rare people whose actions I might not always agree with, but his execution is right on. You keep on keepin' on, boyfriend.

Ian...well...he's new and he's cocky and he has a good credit rating up in here. He needs a few of the silver tongued devils at the Org to give him a few well-put lashings so's the novelty of being in control won't seem like such a novelty...once that happens, I think he'll be like fingers in a glove, child. Tight. He's smart, but honey, the boy needs to control his fine self and show the love a little more often. Nothing's more sexy than a little sincere humility, baby.

I agree with the people who say the Org would benefit from a female moderator or an African American moderator, though I don't know if it's a hundred percent necessary. Maybe if Ben just picked some "consultants" who don't necessarily have moderator privileges but have his trust enough to act as consultants, we'd all enjoy a whole new level of smooove like Telly Savalas' chrome-ass head.

Yes, Kevin is a great moderator as well. And he doesn't do anything. Which is a great testament as to how bad you are. smile
