Locked Threads... Why? I have a question...
Why do any threads even remotely pertaining to the Super Bowl get locked and consolidated? (This happens with every major event Prince is involved in). With such a huge event like the Super Bowl, there a miliion different things to discuss; setlist, personal reactions, press clippings, TV/radio commentary, outcomes of the publicity, etc. When everything gets locked and moved, it makes discussing any one aspect of this historic event very difficult and things become fragmented. This is Prince discussion board. I just don't see why things get shutdowm so fast? I would appreciate a little insight... Thanks for the feedback! John

But to correct a specific point you raised: When everything gets locked and moved, it makes discussing any one aspect of this historic event very difficult and things become fragmented.
Quite the opposite in fact. With everything contained within one thread that remains at the top of the forum, instead of the forum being flooded with mostly pointless threads, it is far better to integrate them into the one place where everybody is looking. Otherwise it's like having a party and everyone being in different rooms. Where's the fun, (or indeed use) in that? Things only ever get fragmented when at 'peak times' (like this Super Bowl appearance) the forums get overrun with threads that have either already been answered and people have been too lazy to check prior to posting, or pointless threads that would be served much better in a place where there is focused interest. It's also worth noting that the pretty little locks scattered throughout the main Prince forum is down to orgers - not the mods. If people paid attention in the first place, a lot of the 'confusion' would never happen. PS: Wrong forum. Moving to Site Discussion >>>>>
