It kills me to see that everybody is HERDED into ONE topic, to go through page after page of posts.

I know you can't spread the load across different servers, but you could at least have the hits go at different spots in RAM or HD.

Start a Hot Topics FORUM. Let people post topics in there. Kill duplicates, but allow SOME diversity.

The white screen of death isn't special to you or anybody else.

Damned server just needs a kick up the arse when traffic gets heavy.

Anyone know of any reason site traffic may be heavy of late?

Also, it's very easy for you guys to say that when all you have to do is browse. As the only mod this side of the atlantic, I value my time as much as the next person, so I don't see why I should be modding a hundred threads when one will do at peak times like this.

Personally, I think it's kind of fucking selfish to be honest. That's not aimed at anyone directly, or indeed here on this thread...but it's how I feel and something I've noticed more and more this past year. APATHY. I think it's revolting. Nobody stops to think of what it's like for the people 'behind the scenes' trying to keep things organised.

The only reason there's a lot of locked threads is because people don't pay attention.

...and people wonder why the server crashes at times like this.


But hey, it's all so easy to sit and nitpick when you don't have to do the work though isn't it?
