A Response To Battier's Confession

.
.
Earlier on the org, June7 posted the following message from BattierBeMyDaddy:

From BattierBeMyDaddy July 09, 2003

Hi guys,

censored told me about the thread that sag10 started, in which AnotherLover has gone in and further defamated my character.

I really have no interest in messing with her about it. I will not deny that parts of what she has to say are true. I had access to a moderator's account through a security problem with the side. I merely had his password. I went in from time to time and checked the status of strikes on my own account.

I will tell you, however, that I hadn't any access to the moderator functions, such as actually moderating of threads, and any sort of database or personal information that anyone has. I had no way of getting a password.

So, how did I get the moderator's password? I went in and guessed it. I didn't hack. I guessed.

What was I able to do? Merely go into your profiles and look at the strikes every orger had, and the reason that they were put there. And IP addresses. Everything else was just the same.

You have to have another password to go into the administration section.

AnotherLover, or steadymobbin or whatever, who I used to consider my friend, found out and reported me. She reported the truth, along with lies.

Enough about that. I had censored go in and look up your email addresses so that I could email both of you. You were two of the only people that I care to keep in any form of contact with.

None of what I did is really important. I got banned, which isn't such a big deal at all. I'm actually glad it happened. I don't have to worry about posting anymore, I can just, you know... have a real life.

I miss commenting about your nuts, June7...

Anyways, adios for now kiddies.
-Rhonda err... BattierBeMyDaddy"

Wow, a straight out confession to what could be a felony. Amazing.

And yet the "blame the victim" shit continues here. I don't care who "told" on her. It was the right thing to do, and I have an infinite amount of respect for this person's actions. However, I'm more interested in who knew, but who didn't report her. More about that later.

I assume that the name that was censored in Battier's letter was IceNine's, which raises the question of what he knew and when he knew it. We know that he knew about bkw's break in and never reported it, in fact he particpated in the letter.

And who told Battier or Ice where this info came from? Do the moderators report to them?

Plus these threads got deleted, even though it raises issues that concern us all.

I think the site owner needs to address this immediately as the password I and many others use here are aslo used in many places around the net. I refuse to take the word of a seventeen year old criminal who fails to see the seriousness of what she did that and believes that this was just a joke or not that big a deal.

My questions for the moderators:

- What information was compromised?

- What, if any, legal action was taken?

- What options or legal recourse do we as members have in this matter?

- Did BattierBeMyDaddy act alone?

- Was BattierBeMyDaddy given information as to who reported her by one or more of the moderators?

- Did IceNine post as the race and flame-baiting troll "FivePercenter"?

Can we get some answers, please.

It was merely an assumption. However, there is another question that remains unanswered:

Did IceNine post as the race and flame-baiting troll "FivePercenter"?

This is the third topic started about this, and both of the others were deleted. I don't think that this situation is to be taken lightly. This should be discussed openly for everyone to see.

oh, it's not just the 3rd. it's been repeatedly started (albeit without all the details, but questions back when it was happening about what was going on) and the threads about it have always been deleted.

I have a feeling that certain questions are being avoided because, to paraphrase Depeche Mode, "words can only do harm" to he who answers honestly.

The reason that this is taken so seriously is that some people use the same passwords for more than just the org. Surely, you can see how this would be problematic.

She did not have access to your fucking password and anyone who knows anything wouldn't use the same password for everything.

You weren't even a member of the org when this shit was happening and if you were it means you have multiple accounts which is strictly prohibited.

it is NOT strictly prohibited. what it IS, is not a right. moderators can and will delete multiple accounts, but it is not strictly prohibited. it is allowed, but you shouldn't expect it to be.

This will never get a reply, and most likely u will get banned or at least warned for asking these questions. I agree with everything u have said, and I too think that we deserve answers. I have changed my PW several times since, but it hardly matters. I don't know enough about american law to know if it's a felony, Matt should be able to answer that though.
