So, I'm just wondering. . . . . . if anybody (*cough* Ben *cough*) is ever going to tell us why the org seems to be permanently suffering from glitchy-ness. Sometimes it's worse than others, but. . . yeah. What's up? Do we all need to chip in for a new server or something? oh noes, prince is gonna soo me!!1!

It does crash. And my fingers get great exercise trying to log on over and over
I would not mind chipping in at all. Ohh purple joy oh purple bliss oh purple rapture! REAL MUSIC by REAL MUSICIANS - Prince "I kind of wish there was a reason for Prince to make the site crash more" ~~ Ben |

Founder | Well, there's a few things. One, sure a newer server would help, but there's a ton of work (not just $$) involved in that, and I don't have the time to deal with it right now. Second, and probably more importantly, there's at least one big bug that causes the org to crash, related to 'moving' threads. I can replicate the problem, but haven't been able to debug it and find the root cause, and fix it, yet. I need to do this... really.
Aside from that I think it's generally OK. I only get a couple of (automatic, monitoring) messages a day about problems, but still I know that's annoying if you're trying to use the site then ben -- "the prince.org guy" |

Help us to help you, look before you leap, yadda yadda...

Because you may underestimate the willingness of many orgers to chip in for org 4.0 You don't scare me; i got kids

What if someone took a lot of the org coding work off your hands, ben?

Yeah, it does seem like there might be the makings for a volunteer Org Geek Squad. . . there must be a bunch of skilled nerds hanging out here.
But even if we had to pay for a non-volunteer geek squad. . . I do think that many would be willing to help. oh noes, prince is gonna soo me!!1!
