I won't say anything. Nothing I can say would be appropriate.

As hard as it might be for you to understand, the moderators on this site give their time freely because they like the site, like the people and want to try and make it better. It's not a "power trip" or anything like it.

To be honest I don't care if you all want to spend the whole day hurling insults at each other - just do it on Orgnotes or private mail okay? Saves me having to nuke annoying threads like this.

What i don't get ian is that you, being a moderator, should try and apply the rules for posting and creating threads, right??

But then, you create this thread which is a devote-a-thread to Shausler. Why the double standard?

good question...i pretty much asked the same question when it pertained to a comment made towards Anxiety in another thread...then my post gets edited and the thread closed without me being able to respond.

all this under the guise that the moderator can do whatever he wants..great!! joy!! that will make this place fun to hang out in...

When did I ever say that a thread may not discuss members of the site? Er, I didn't. So what's your point?

That's right you never said that a thread may not discuss members of the site but if you look at the rules it says "Do not create "devote-a-threads" or other useless messages"

and when you explained the posts that you'll delete in this thread the first point you made was:

  • Posts that just plain break the rules, as outlined by Ben previously

so i'm just trying to know if you plan on applying the rules loosely to everyone or only to you??

I'm not trying to be a pain in the booty! it's just that since there's already been problems with moderation, i just want to have a clear view of how you plan on applying the rules.

Hi QstnOfU -

A very fair question. The "devote a thread" issue is a bit confusing but I posted my take on it here:

http://www.prince.org/msg...&tid=20795

In general I feel the "useless messages" bit of the rule leaves room for subjectiveness and scope for the moderator to decide what is really useless and what isn't.

Me personally... I don't have much problems with the "devote a threads" since so many people enjoy them so I intend to be pretty liberal unless those threads break the rules in other ways.

Sorry it's not a great answer but that's my take on it anyway...

Ok, thanks for answering my question. It can't be easy moderating all of us being that we're so... nuts
