Part of my job with my employer is domestic violence screening. Some members on the site describe situations I think are pretty scarey. Many are past tense, which I feel better about.

Not too long ago,in my work experience, a woman was treated for orbital fractures from her spouse hitting her in the face. The globe wasn't salvagable. (enucleation) The worst is babies treated for a current head injury only to find old rib fractures on xray from abuse. This is more extreme examples. There's no turning off signs of abuse even if it's verbal. And some terms used in a certain way are abusive.
