That's just gonna cause more flame wars and confusion all over the place. Leading to more and more threads and posts for Ben to delete. There will NEVER be any sort of peace around here! People act postal enough! The procedure should be no different than what it is at ISPs. | |

People are always gonna be jerks for jerk's sake. You don't get it. If so many people are unhappy about the way things are going here NOW it will only get worse with this idea. It won't get better, it won't be the same, it will get WORSE. How is that going to change Prince.org for the better for everyone including the moderators? I dont think it will be fun for anyone except a small minority. Leave the snitches to grammar school. | |

Well for one thing I was not thinking of the suggestion as a way to "cure" societies or the orgs problems(as if they are exclusive only to this site) but as a matter of fact, the suggestion put into place may prevent people from just arbitrarily reporting and such etc since they will be seen etc...maybe like you said it would get worse. But still... Leave the snitches to grammar school.

Seriously, I think that would start some serious problems, as reporting by and large relies on anonymity. Think of that welfare or terrorist "information lines" and what it would be like if the names of those who report were published. Rarely does only ONE person report a thread to me, typically it's 3 or 4 people. Sometimes it's 10 or more! It all depends. Anyhow, the rating system might never come back (thinking on that one) and the "see who reported this thread" will DEFINITELY never happen, for obvious, and stated reasons. ben -- "the prince.org guy" |
