Remember the old org?

Remember the black and purple days when there was only one forum, the news forum, and it got jacked all the time? I would laugh so hard I would cry, everyday. I miss King Sausage and his fake tracklistings. I miss the old org. It was so much fun

Anybody miss it?

Yeah I did too. I was in high school then. I came on here back in 1996. I used to sneak on the org by using the library computer. (Of course we werent allow to lookup non-educational stuff) smile

I just miss the black and purple and the news forum. there are way too many forums now and too many people not here for a common thing like it used to be

I love the fact that there are multiple forums.

It's nice to have the General Discussion forum, where we don't have to be focused on debating or sharing the same themes. As a matter of fact most of the threads are non sensical topics and the real magic is the jacking of them, or just the banter that friends have there.

Seriously, if Prince.org where to fold, I'd be happy if the General Discussion forum spun off some place else. It's quite magic.

But as for the rest of the org, it makes for a great overall experience becuase it's much more relaxed than other fansites, and the members and moderators are truly entertaining. I mean, and I"m being serious, the org is my main source of entertainment. Since I started orging, I rarely watch T.V.

If Prince.org is ever about to fold. Please contact me - my friend and I would be happy to run the hosting and maintenance of the site. I've long had plans that should the org need a new over, I'd be one totally happy to take over (My name's also Ben too lol - it can be a dynasty)...I also thought about, for version4.0, brining back the black and purple layout of the old site with a few brand new coding tricks to make it incredible. biggrin

It's interesting looking at that page - the site had an editorial section. I think Prince.org needs an overhaul. The news section needs revamping, we should have orgColumnists - make it perhaps more Prince dedicated (ironic that I say this considering that I'm not a fan at all anymore, but I'm thinking of the fans) - we'd keep multiple forums..the GD is incredible. We should scrap less-used forums such as Org Artist/NPGMC Discussion/Concerts/Fan Gatherings/Marketplace and make them part of other forums. create sub forums, such as a Prince news section for those who just want the news, the AMP mirror, Prince editorials/commentaries, Prince Info & Resources and Prince Discussion. Just an example.

I think about this too much. lol

yes, but things have changed - ben has virtually left the org to be now...it's unlikely to ever change unless he gets an unprovoked spur of motivation.

actually, he hasnt left the org altogether...as someone who runs his own site (www.girlbroslandia.org for those who didnt know -wink wink-) your enthusiasm for it ebbs and flows...just last week ben was emailing us mods (for what felt like a full day) and working on fixing some of the org bugs...

so, as he gets used to his job and his settles in to fatherhood he might just start doing new stuff...

ya never know.

Well I want him to contact me biggrin

I could make some photoshop mockups...the problem is that my ideas are quite a bit of hard work so I don't know if Ben would be that motivated - I'll have to talk to him. You might not understand, but I'm thinking of adding a lot of nice Javascript/XHTML effects to spruce up the site and give it a cleaner, more modern look without changing the familiar face of the org.
