Q 2 the ORG? Just a question 2 the ORG in general. Prince has been sharing his love of music for 28 plus years and is still going strong. That has been 28 years of positive music, concerts and entertainment. My question is why does it APPEAR 2 be so negative here on the org? Is this a true representation of Prince “FANS”? Inquiring minds want 2 know.
Thanks in advance for your participation.

Thanks in advance for your participation. I think you had the right word in your post gray..."APPEARS" the org may "appear" to be negative on the surface but if you dig a lil deeper and read more posts...you'll find that it's not negative at all. Even the negative ninnies are really just overly effected by some of P's actions in the contrary to what they feel they wish he'd do. sometime I swear Prince has the bitchiest fans anyone could ever ask for but...it's all outta love really [Edited 8/2/06 12:29pm] "not a fan" yeah...ok

Thanks in advance for your participation. Its right what your saying - some of it goes a little too far for my liking but as Ive said before this is a site for orgers to air their opinions - good or bad (although it winds me up sooo much sometimes!!!) 'Ive never been 1 2 hide my feelings, Baby, u blow my mind I painted your face upon my ceiling, I stare at it all the time...' http://www.myspace.com/welshmess

I think the website sounds a touch negative because the real fans don't have much interesting to say at the moment, and I wonder why some members actually bother to participate. But I think things will pick up when the Tour is finally announced and the excitement builds. What I really want to see (and everyone else for that matter) is to see Prince do a lengthy Q and A session. That would be a dream come true to all fans and it would truly set the place on fire.

don't confuse positivity with respect, which is a quality that tends to flow in two directions.

one problem prince has is his past. like you said each new project is going to be on some level compared to everything else he has done... and even for prince that is hard to do. so here comes 3121... well damn it is just not as good as all of the other 300+ songs... so it gets a lower rating that maybe it deserves. what chance does it have?

the fact is, you love your version of Prince more than anybody here and those shades you wear keep you from seeing the whole man that is, afterall, what he is... a man for me, i consider myself a fruit inspector and if he's going to try to pass off something bad as something good i'm gonna call him on it yeah, i love him and respect him for many things but he also has his flaws like in the way he treats people, for one and the more he gets away with it the more he's gonna do it for me, it's a bit more personal than for most if others are able to take him or leave him based merely on the music then that's cool too it's the same way this world often makes athletes into sports gods they base their judgment on the "game" and not the "player" but in my Book, nobody deserves worship unless the sacrifice is Real and that doesn't mean just being good at something there's far more better people out there making far greater sacrifices those are the ones to be respected on an even deeper level those are the ones we should strive to be like not to say that Prince doesn't have his part to play in this world he does, and he plays it exceedingly well but as long as that ego keeps popping up and telling us he's better than most i'm gonna call him on it because it does more harm than good a lot of people don't deserve the sleight of hand he gives 'em peace definition: "sleight of hand" -- the set of techniques used by a magician to manipulate objects [Edited 8/2/06 13:08pm]

the fact is, you love your version of Prince more than anybody here and those shades you wear keep you from seeing the whole man that is, afterall, what he is... a man I think the statement that "we" love our own version of Prince is very acturate for us all... to me...those of us who are willing to accept that our version of prince may not be the entire prince pictue are the ones who are more positive. The ones who are unwilling to accept that are the ones who are more negative. Just my thoughts on that. for me, i consider myself a fruit inspector
and if he's going to try to pass off something bad as something good i'm gonna call him on it an apple with a buise on it is still worth eating..and the food I throw in the trash is a gourmet meal to someone who is starving. I'm just saying. yeah, i love him and respect him for many things
but he also has his flaws like in the way he treats people, for one and the more he gets away with it the more he's gonna do it for me, it's a bit more personal than for most The day Prince personally treats ME badly...is the day I'll take it up with him. I'll be mad at MYSELF for not seeing it coming. if others are able to take him or leave him based merely on the music
then that's cool too it's the same way this world often makes athletes into sports gods they base their judgment on the "game" and not the "player" but in my Book, nobody deserves worship unless the sacrifice is Real and that doesn't mean just being good at something there's far more better people out there making far greater sacrifices those are the ones to be respected on an even deeper level those are the ones we should strive to be like not to say that Prince doesn't have his part to play in this world he does, and he plays it exceedingly well but as long as that ego keeps popping up and telling us he's better than most i'm gonna call him on it because it does more harm than good a lot of people don't deserve the sleight of hand he gives 'em peace definition: "sleight of hand" -- the set of techniques used by a magician to manipulate objects [Edited 8/2/06 13:08pm] Shit! I musta missed that...I think Prince is confident in his abilities but I've never gotten the feeling he thinks he's better than most. Everyone is in controll of their own lives...if someone is treated badly by prince it's their own fault, and if they continue to let it happen...that's on them. I'm not saying your wrong snap. People just look at things and people differently... "not a fan" yeah...ok

Well, sometimes it's just fun.
Other times it's just fans expressing themsevles. Some are fans of primarily his music, others him/his looks, others of both. While I don't say stuff about how I don't like him (cuz I happen to like his demeanor and just him in general), and I don't like to insult his work (I don't know what he was feeling/thinking/inspired by at the time, and it's not what I'm here for-I'm a 'supportive type of fan'), but I do get a laugh at some of the "negative comments", cuz not everyone's opinions/perceptions about Prince are the same. I mean everybody is entitled to say what they gotta say, it is a forum right?

I think we're sort of like addicts.
Every fix makes us want another, the next higher high. But I truly appreciate and enjoy all the entertainment he's has given us all these years. I didn't enjoy all of it equally, but I did. I'm still playing 3121 out. Thanks Prince. No More Haters on the Internet.

You obviously never visited the boards at npgmc , I liked that place, but....well that's another story.
As far as negativity goes, you are going to get it anywhere you go. It is a human emotion, positivity/negativity, love/hate, happiness/sadness. You always get one with the other. What is most important, however, is how each individual approaches and deals with the negativity that others so often spew

Artists should be grateful for some sort of objectivity with regard to their work. And Prince is no God. Prince is a fallible human being who has made some bad choices, taken some bad decisions, and made some bad music.
And we are human. We disagree about what is good and what's bad. Isn't that more interesting? But Marge! What if we chose the wrong religion? Each week we just make God madder and madder.

Thanks in advance for your participation. I'm not sure if what I say can truly be defined as "negitive" but if that is your perception, I'd say "When in Rome, do as the Romans Do". As for any "negitivity" one may percieve of my comments in the direction of Prince, well only he would understand my comments to him, so... There you go. News: Prince pulls his head out his ass in the last moment.
Bad News: Prince wasted too much quality time doing so. You have those internalized issues because you want to, you like to, stop.

Thanks in advance for your participation. aren't you a little angry at him too? i think i would be if i were you. anywho... personally i don't think Prince wants people to be over zealous about him. hence the idoltry references he spoke of recently and the fan to fam change of long ago. personally i see no difference in "fam" or "fan" anymore, in fact some fams are more fanatical than fans. let that soak in for a sec. makes sense, eh? i think he fears those who see no wrong in what he puts out (he is more critical of his work then anyone here). i believe he's grown enough to know when people are being honest critics or just jerks. sometimes you see things with him change, like lines of songs, hair styles, etc. and you think "hey, they were just talking about that on the fan site". makes ya wonder if he's listening, probably not but who knows. just my opinion. don't eat yellow snow
