well, i got news for you folks...that orger was not banned for voicing his/her views...that orger was re-banned because they are never ever ever ever allowed back on to this website...no matter what their name is...and that orger recieved fair warning time and time again and refused to follow the rules that they agreed to when they signed up to participate...but they couldnt. so they were banned...this actually occured a while ago..but they keep coming back...and we keep banning him/her...and its not just me rebanning...other mods have done it too.

so, in conclussion...i've always been open to discuss how things can be better here at the org. im always creating threads asking folks for their opinion (hence me starting the n-word ban thread in the first place) but i've always asked that folks remain constructive when they discussed things...you have failed horribly at that request...

people who think prince is a poster on a wall, defined as a person by what he looks like, someone who was supposedly born just to make you personally happy, the belief that he's flawless, people who post pictures of his body parts, people who try to match him up with celebs purely based on external appearance, people who cant handle other peoples opinions without feeling like their whole world is gunna come crashing down.....

as far as others not being banned, take ownership and report the offensive comments and the orgers will be dealt with accordingly...ask around and you will find that "taking ownership" and using the "report to mod" option works wonders.

heres something funny...i dont know who you are and didnt realize you were the same person who was soo upset with the "should the n-word be banned thread" was until i re-read the thread and noticed it...so when i addressed your "negative prince thread" i was doing that with no preconcieved biases...yet im getting the impression you are thinking im following you around and baiting you.

a lot of times the public just isn't privy to the account history that we are privy too...sometimes folks are banned for logging ingto the chatroom and harrassing folks...sometimes they harrass folks via orgnotes...these are actions that occur off the boards...

and ya know what? i know some folks think im biased or that i ban folks for their controversial statements but i only ban folks for one of two reasons:

1) they refuse to follow site rules

or

2) they have been previously banned...

and i can see how it can appear strange when a percieved upstanding orger all of a sudden gets banned but guys and gals, we are doing it for a reason...there have been a couple orgers recently who have long long histories of getting warnings about flaming/baiting and what not...and they were warned and then banned...they then came back and created new relationships and stayed on the site for months without any mod noticing they had returned...but the minute we noticed who they actually wer, we banned them...

we got to respect privacy and not disclose a lot of the mess that goes on in the background...and i know that ben doesnt hang out here as much...and thats why i advice that you take matters up with another mod...others have done this with me and ive orgnoted the mod and had a discussion...theres firewalls here...we just need more constructive discussion of site moderation (like the initial post gemini13 made here: http://www.prince.org/msg/3/197303)...

but the minute orgers start making this issues personal and saying mods actions are BS...or that they are racist and what not...well, how the heck can anyone have a healthy discussion with that type of attitude?
