Chatroom Challenged Please help! I've recently joined the Org. and thought I'd visit the chatroom.
My computer skills are extremely limited, and I must be doing something wrong! I entered the room and then nothing happened. I have been in a few chatrooms on AOL and the screen would be constantly scrolling as participants added comments. In the Org. chatroom, it took a couple of beats before I realized no new comments were being added. Can someone tell me how this chatroom works? Thanks!

You need to click on the chat button on the upper part of your screen to see what people have posted. Also, you need to hit the return button after you type in something in the box that says "send" that you want to post in the chatroom. Hope this helps! Welcome Monica It has to do with the fact that it's a JAVA-based chatroom... if u go to colors&preferences u can change the colour of your handle as well as the auto-refresh, my recommendation is that u set it for 40 seconds or so in the beginning, then as u get faster u can shorten it That way the room will refresh even if u don't type anything or hit enter Have fun, see u in there!

Thanks, Teacher. You are very helpful. The last time I was in a chatroom, this is how we showed emotion (smiley face) LOL
I think I'm still living in the 90's!

oops, now I'm REALLY embarrassed. I was trying to show you the old fashioned way of making a smiley face (with the semi-colon...hypen...and this thing ) but it came up as the "modern" yellow happy face. Yeeesh...I'm old!
