Anyway ... a friend of mine, her avie was banned

I am guessing there was a complaint about the adult theme behind it even though there wasn't boobs or buns or anything of that nature.

So my questions are ...

If an avie like that is deleted, why are adult themed avies allowed in the 1st place ?

And what about avies that show asses and boobs and other adutl themed pix still around ?

Should they all not be cleaned up ? Or is it just the ones that are complained about deleted ?

I've had some banned and some not banned. I think it boils down to moderator taste.

If a vagina or erect penis is not being shown, the waters get murky on what is in bad taste I guess. For examply, sosgemini is far far kinkier than most moderators so I could get most things approved by him based on his exceeding, far reaching, kinkyness alone.

Y Pardonme4livin's got banned. There was nothing adult about it.

Sort of on the same tip, I am wondering if Mods automatically delete, snip anything that's been reported (thread or post or avatar), even if the person doing the reporting may be seeing things/intentions that really aren't there. Or do the Mods actually take a look at the post/thread/avatar objectively and make their own decisions.

I remember when it was just 1-3 people moderating the whole place that sometimes mods would tell the reporter, "sorry, I really don't see that as a flame/bait/obscenity", and not every single thing reported as objectionable was done away with. There was some personal discretion.

Personally, I know there were a couple times I accidentally approved avatars that I shouldn't have, and after I clicked the "Submit" button and the page was loading I realized it and was like "oh shit!".

Sometimes they slip through the cracks (no pun intended). Especially if it's a real closeup where it almost looks abstract, or if the colors are all off the wall and unnatural.

They're only 64 x 64 px images, so I don't see them causing as much trouble as some giant wallpaper sized image of someones penis on the screen or something like that.

If it's in good taste, fine.

If you have a complaint about someone's avatar that you find revolting because....., then send an orgnote and we can look into it. If it is deemed unacceptable we will ask the user to change their avatar.
